  • How to improve FFXI plz read

    -Make melee jobs have mre abilities after lv 50

    -reduce the blood pact time for summoners to use their avatars abilities, or increase the overall strength in avatars.

    -MAKE DRG A BETTER JOB, OR GIVE IT A ROLE IN PARTY JESUS

    -give samerai's another tp kind of ablity like meditate only make it like lv 38+

    -for bsts, yu should be able to see all the abilities u can do when u use sic

    -PUT DIFFERENT LOOKING MONSTERS IN THE GAME, ALL PARTYS FIGHT ARE LIKE WORMS, CRABS, PUGS, etc THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME.

    -make warrior not THE only sub that all melees use, make sam, rng, thf, nin, etc subable which will give diversity through players

    -make galkas legs less scrawny lol

    -try to encourage players to not only go to one place to lv it seems that all players think they HAVE to go to valkrum-quifim-kazham etc

    -give theifs a purpose of all those farming abilities, like them being able to throw money like if they threw 9999g it would do 999 dmg

    -make elvaans heads in the right place, the head sticks out like a hunchbak

    -give us more exciting missions and quests so people actaully follow the story line instead of just raise, raise, raise, raise, raise, lol

    -DIFFIRENT looking equipment so people look DIFFERENT so people could sort of customize the way they look

    -make ballista more organized so people actaully take it seriously, like making people bet money and stuff

            It does have a role, but most people don't consider it essential. I prefer drgs in parties with nin tanks.

            Why? So people say "Screw it" and sub war? A Samurai is already 10000% more effective than /Sam.

            Uh... its a player's choice, not developers. Only tanks really need to be war or have /war sub.

            Once again, players choice, not developers. There are tons of places to xp if you're willing to go.

            I like the storyline, personally. Do a few ZMs.

            Players, not developers. There's a ton of eq choices out there.

                No, people subwar if they want to be a dd AND a tank, there eis no other job that gives better offensive abilities.

                  DDs sub WAR generally if they want to be acceptable in a "Cookie Cutter" party. there are thousands of other types of parties that work, but "Cookie Cutter" parties are the most general and easy to replace. every job is a viable subjob in certain situations, it just happens to be that because of WAR's versatility, the subjob is viable in MORE situations, including the accepted "Cookie Cutter" parties.

                  it was the develaper's choice to make this the way it is.

                  it is player stupidity that thinks only WAR is a good subjob for DD.


                  all mobs are viable leveling mobs, it's just that some are a tiny bit easier to level off of than others with a "Cookie Cutter" party. in addition to that, people are afraid of any mobs that aren't common leveling mobs, and any areas that aren't leveling areas (that's part of the point of the game), but the stupid people turned that into a religion, and are unable to grasp the concept of something that is "different".

                  it was the develaper's choice to make this the way it is.

                  this happens in later levels and higher quests/missions

                  this also happens in later levels, and it will happen more after "Chains of Promethia" (although there will always be a "best for Cookie Cutters" type of equipment).

                      It's not really player's stupidity that /war gives Double attack + Berserk+ Attack Up trait + Def trait + defender....which in many cases Outweight the use of other subjobs.

                      Sure the other subjobs are viable, any subjob is viable, but that's like saying DRK/SMN subjob is on the same level as using a DRK/WAR. It's not the player's stupidity to have found the subjob that provides the best exp party efficiency out of all other subjobs. (some exceptions lie with /thf subjob). Only problem lies in that /war is given almost all of its abilities by lvl 30, which anyone can sub, plus /war ends up giving more damage over time = more exp / hr = quicker leveling.

                      They need to make ways for players to either learn an ability permanently, or make ways to switch subjobs without needing to go all the way to Jeuno/Bastok/San D/ Windy, etc.
                      Perhaps have an NPC nearby that can switch subjobs in most leveling zones. And stop nerfing every ability.
                      If the Devs were creative, they would make certain subjobs give new abilities, that aren't present when main. (hopefully not make them better than main though, that would make everyone sub the job instead -_-)


                      I think it's developpers' choice for players not to be able to customize their faces. They should make a /face that could help players mess around with their skin texture, hair style and color, etc.

                      Armor to be really efficient in a party is usually down to 1 or 2. So you'll see plenty of PLDs, WARs, DDs, and Mages wearing the same exact body armor. Then other things like belts, back armor, aren't shown which sucks.

                      Samurai should be given a TP distribution technique. More active abilities to allow them not to become 2SC whores post-40. Meditate got old after the 3rd renkei i ever did it in. -_- 45 levels of it over and over doesn't sound like much fun. Different stances for 1) very low dmg + high speed + better acc
                      2) high criticals+ more delay + decent acc
                      3) more dmg + same delay+ same acc (which is pretty low)

                      Addition of sheaths is a necessity: Sheaths with stats preferably.


                      Dragoons have a role, but it definitely becomes 2nd rate post-60. They start to lose confidence, and that mainly stems from the weakass weaponskills they get. Pentathrust without spamming is just another multi-hit ws, with the need for high acc for good dmg. I would recommend giving pet cmds to wyvern. I've heard of wyvern chainmail that gives wyvern subjob traits. That's nice, make some more of those for levels 50, 55, 60, 65, etc.

                      Ballista should give more access to skilling up certain combat skills. There should be accessories that give skillup + 10% etc during Ballista-only. This would make Ballista more attractive, addition of placing bets would make money making a bit more fun/daring.

                      Less mobs should aggro like they do, that's the main reason why people stick to the same mobs every level same zones etc. I have a theory that SE created ninjas to be the perfect puller which would draw more people to level in different zones without fearing aggro, linking etc. However, blink tanking has probably given ninjas a better role. Either that or SE should make nin/rng the best gun user + give them throwing ws for good damage dealing. This might open more zones to have ninjas pull perfectly and no fear of link, aggro, etc.'

                      Make "X" killer actually worth using. Dragon killer is worthless as you need to be the one with the hate for it to kick in. Demon Killer also suffers same problem. These jobs don't tank on a normal basis, so no good. I suggest just making it work like H2H dmg to bones, or polearms dmg to flies.

                      Give more mage jobs for crying out loud, DDs have all the competition in the world, mages are always needed in pts. Create more mages for more diverse parties.

                        Another thing SE could do to improve the game is to make mobs travel around in groups like in the other FFXI's where there was three enemies. This would add more fun and strategy in the game i think.

                          -/drk-souleater abd last resort suck compared to berserk and the second attack up wont help that much.

                          -/rng no one really subs ranger except for samerais(about 10 on my server who sub it) becus their archery rating is really bad

                          -/monk people sometimes sub this early on, but at later lvs people sub warrior(cus its better)

                          -/sam tp nerf....like no one subs it anymore(well atleast on my sever)

                          -/theif yes alot of drks sub this when they reach a high enough lv to get TA but thats like lv 60, before then like 100% of all drks dont sub it.

                          -/whm yes people sub this when they solo but not in a prty.

                          -/ninja warrior, rng and theif subs this for utsumi, (in my opinion i think war sub in better for theif) but ya nin is a good sub for them.

                          WAR IS THE BEST SUB IF YU WANT TO DO DMG AND TAKE IT

                            there already is a perfect puller in the game, it is bst/whm or rdm, both work fine. at lv 50-75, no one can pull better. I can out pull any other job. In fact, you can tell me what you want and I'll go get it even if it's deep in the zone. Links mean nothing with pet pulling and sneak + invis + heel + stay + leave + deoderize

                            If you can't find a bst to pull for you, a smn would also work. But smn are probably better off resting on the ground for more MP.

                            I think nin are meant for tanking as that adds a lot more variety in the game instead of only pld's. Nin are also good choice for galkas who like to play rdm but without the MP disadvantage. But that's just me.

                            as for killer abilities, they used to be more effective by giving better damage and accuracy vs that type of monster but apparently that stuff has been changed lately.
                            75/bst, 60/smn, 51/rdm, 46/whm, 40/blm, 37/nin, 37/thf, 37/war, 32/sam, 25/brd, 10/pld, 7/mnk

                              So what if war does more damage, did you even think of missing your whole barrage or missing first shot for unlimited shot ? Maybe warrior does more, but it doesn't add up as well as we think :spin:
