bottom line is a whitemage or even a black mage has nothing to worry about... higher levels this changes a bit cuz parties are not so easy to find.. but if you can just find another group in about 2 seconds when you put flag up what do you care if a group kicks you??

you take a lower level thief for instance.. and he will have alot more respect to be in the group.. as he just waited probably an hour just to get an invite.

and i think thats just what it comes down to.

whitemages and to some extent blm's/rdm's are hot girls.. everyones wants them and everyone kisses thier ass so naturally they develop an attitude to match this.

you find a not so hot girl and she is going to go the extra distance to impress hehe... as she knows she isnt all that.

its the same everywhere.... look at sports.. the "stars" of sports get away with much more then regular players and have attitudes and spoiled.

i am making the transition from melee to mage and let me tell you it is so different.. before people just talked to me regular now people kiss my ass all the time... i try and tell people you dont have to act like that its all good.. but i am treated so differently now.

its a whole different world when your a mage compared to melee.. a hard transistion.

I haven't noticed Taru mages being haveing a bad attitude more often than other races... it's just the "cuteness" and their outward apearance that turns me off. Actually there's other things about them that annoy me.

Tarutaru seem overpowered to me. The difference between Taru mages and other mages is staggering (at least from a non-Taru mage's PoV) but I barely notice the difference between a Taru melee and another melee. Instead of 120 damage with that scythe they might do 114.

I've even had a few Elvaan PLDs tell me they think Taru make the best PLDs... their MP more than making up for their low Vit and HP with increased aggro control ability. The same can't be said for a WHM having higher HP, Mnd and Vit but lower MP.

If they made models of tarus in AF, I would be among the first to pick up a dragoon, dark and rdm taru and probably the paladin too if it had a good hairstyle.

in response to the ideas of spoiled mages. I have to agree that the whm who u had invited into your party and then u left and he/she forgot about u. that person was ignorant.

but as a fellow whm i have to go against some of the things u have said. If im making a party i always look for the best group of people i can get. Mainly because when we goto lvl my life is in their hands. If the warrior cant keep the agro then im screwed and so are the other mages. If i have the choice between a lvl 17 monk and waiting for someone with a warrior class. I would rather wait then take the monk. No offense to monks but i like provoke alot more then brute damage. Its all in proportions for when a whm thinks of parties.


on the fault of the whm taking over your party. thats a damn shame that some whm are over protective. But even so. when im invited to a party. i do put my 2 cents into who joins the party. its a big deal to me even if im not the leader. Ive been in too many parties where the leader invited me and then 4 others warriors and wanted to go kill giants.... im sorry but im not going on a suicide mission. Basically the ideas of a whm are from other whm considered normal but if u have never played a whm or have never been a good friend of one. then you have NO idea what whms have to deal with. This isnt just taru. ALL whm do this.

I completely agree with Kiyosuki's view on the most typical annoying personality traits in different races.

I also love tarus. I think they're amazingly cool and sometimes I wish I was one, even though I don't play any mages. The cute taru act is not annoying at all, unless they totally blow the sugar (how do I come up with these stupid expressions?), but I don't remember any cases like that.

I had the misfortune of grouping with him once, only to never hear him shutup, ever. I tolerated it, as I'm fairly patient, but I know the other members in the party were wanting to kick him out (from what was conveyed to me in tells). If I was the leader, I would've done so myself.

No point to arguing whos more annoying then the other... it has absolutely nothing to do with a race in a video game. Hell everyone in this game is co dependent on someone else of another race when in a pt, except for maybe bsts. Theres jerks of every size shape color and hairstyle in this game. Jp/NA whatever, if your a jerk your a jerk, I'm not gonna say oh, hes just an elvaan all elvaans are like this. And for tarus being cute... who the hell cares if they want to dance around and have some fun... turn the camera angle or shut off your monitor if its that annoying o_O;; I can't seem to find a way to hate taru cute ness... I think people just need to stop trying to be hard asses and just get along some times. I'm not directing this post at anyone in this topic either.... just so I don't get in any trouble >_< but this is just my collection of thoughts i have come to while playing this game for a while. I don't hate tarus.

I hate mages, and most mages seem to be Taru, although I think that melee tarus are cool. The reason why I hate mages a lot is because they get it in easier in the game, and it's usually them that have to "go" first in a party, like I've beeen sitting for hours LFG and then I get into one and the mage has to go in 2 hours? They always to seem to act really pompous, too. I don't like that, I try to do my job, and the way they made this game, I've gotta outdo other drks and other melee dmg for a place in a party. I only look for a party when I have enough time to EXP for a long time... and mages think EXPing is something they can do casually, like in between a lunch break or something? Maybe I just chose the wrong job, I guess.

There are some really cool mages I know, but it seems like a lot of them are asses.

I have never had a problem with any Tarutaru in Fairy. They've actually been rather kind to me when I party. We ask for a raise in a position, one will usually come to help us, no strings attached. But most Mithra often grow up to be good thieves. Most Tarutaru often grow up to be good mages... Hume's... not too sure about. Elvaan grow up to be good paladins. Galka... I'd say a good monk, but I could be wrong there.

But hating mages? ARE YOU SERIOUS? WOW. Every single one of you that say you hate mages.. I can understand not liking the play-style of a mage ( but to be honest, there's more to a mage than just watching your character fight. takes tactics and skills, but melees have to organize for SCs - basically the only thing they do that would be considered "tactful"). Most melees, and I do not mean to offend anyone.. have really no clue about the game.

Anyways, you melees are just meat shields so we mages can blast away stuff.. I've been in a PT without a BLM and let me tell you, it's pure hell for the melees and myself, as a WHM.
