i dont know if this topic has been closed,
but taru,s dont think they,re all that.
i think every race with a powerful job(elvaan DRK,taru BLM)
can get cocky about his power sometimes.
im glad im not like that,im a taru warrior so i
have nothing to be proud of lol
im a taru and i love it. theres nothing like talking to peoples knee caps.
and about that cute dance thing. ive only ever done it from requests. so.... i dont know what tarus u are pt with who constantly spam the dance. its a gift use it wisely!
^^ and i am cocky about being a taru. im small and not a giraffe elv or a rhino galka nor am i a normal hume. I love being that lil thing in the corner that makes funny noises and laughs alot. it allows em to express how i feel onine in some situations ^^
Props to my peeps over at fullalchemist.com for making this!
i just play one cuz theyre small and can hide in knee high grass. anyways i never was much for attention. unless i get popular by being good in a pt and beneficial. but as far as bragging and stuff yeah i have, but i only kid and never done it to piss ppl off or to rub it in any ones face. i just play the game. as for humping mithras and stuff thats ...lame. i dont feel like gettin a GM on me anyways. plus i show some respect to the female looking characters. I do like to take charge if something should be done differently tho. I dont know why just seem to be doing that alot lately probably because i had to start over with new ppl. oh well i like tarutarus.
tarus rock in their own special way. you have know clue how ccool it is to go into 3feet deep water and have it cover ur head lol. plus when you look through first person view it is sooooo cool
We're not forming Final Fantasy XI racism now are we?
I wanted to be something that fights and is puny. (Though they actually make really god Ninja's, I didn't expect that.) I love my race. I could imagine my little guy being this down to business, cold blooded killing machine spy, but constantly have to put up with the curse of being cute. Like Nibbler. :D
So far everytime I've met an irritating person, its actually pretty interesting that only certain types come from certain races so far. Its like a look into personality almost. Its like this
Hume's: Annoying types of Hume's I see are usually attention whores, people who seem "spacy", learning impaired, or just plain obnoxious people. In other words...player's with the HUmar syndrome (The "I want to be the main character!" thing) Not so much with the females. My worst experiences are usually with Hume. (I love Hume's though, l; ; )
Mithra: The annoying Mithra I meet are usually incredibly high strung and go overkill on sex jokes. Basically its like if you put a perverted man inside a woman's body, would he feel himself?
Elvaan: The irritating Elvaan I've met, hands down, power hungry stubborn people, who care less about the opinion's of other people. Its they're way or the pt goes to hell. Also the most likely to try to assume control of a party if they arn't leader, for whatever reason. Seems like people obsessed with looking and being cool, and being the guy who always knows best. The Elf fanatic?
Galka: I've actually only met one irritating Galka, they're usually pretty cool. This one guy just didn't seem to ever read the chat log at all, never learned from his mistakes and was incredibly stubborn about people pointing mistakes out. Probably chose the race cause it was big and buff and HaRdCorEz.
Tarutaru: The few irritating Tarutaru's I've met are the ones that never seem to have any kind of "team devotion". You know the type, they Warp and disband the moment the tank seems to get hit in a panic. That or they're "pretend perverted". You know, where they seem to be trying to be perverted for attention, but its obviously just a lame act. Obviously, they picked Tarutaru's with a twisted sense of humor.
The percentage of irritating people I've met is actually pretty small. But usually when I see someone even a little grating they almsot always seem to act like the same negative stereotype of they're respective race. Its kinda interesting in a strange way. :D Any of you guys ever get that impression?
Remember too...we're all irritating at once point or another. (Just don't try to be, god knows we need more of those types. )
Hm...I've partied with a "certain" Taru who has a reputation for doing that on our server (I won't name names).
In general, I love tarus. I play an Elvaan, and Taru mages really ARE all that. When I'm in a PT with them, we usually have much less down time, and good Taru mages do wonders for most PTs I'm in.
They are uber cute, and I love them for that. They're both freaky and interesting, and often lighten the mood. I haven't been in any PT or met any player who has used the /panic in an annoying way, and most taru players only do their emotes upon request.
I guess I'm lucky. I either pt with people I know that WANT me in the pt, or the random pt's I join just seem happy to have me along. I try not to be annoying, but come on! Taru ARE cute, they're designed that way, and it is fun once in a while to lighten things up and act taru-ish a little bit. I guess it's just important to not take it TOO far.
When we're actually fighting there's no time for that anyway. I'm too busy watching my pt mates' hp bars (as backup healer I take that seriously) plus trying to keep the monsters enfeebled, or adding in nukes if things are getting out of hand.
But when there's down time, I think ALL players of ALL races have the right to spice things up a tad.
If people expect a taru mage to just be a voiceless, soulless little mp-reservoir with nothing else to add... don't /invite me. Thanks!

Anyways Tarus are cute but they use it to there advantage to get attention and they do panic non stop, even have macro'ed. But yes it does get annoying it's not a jealous thing just from the fact Taru Taru have no knee caps... how can they dance?
Tarus have knees! We can do /kneel motion. And I was surprised when I saw my leg actually bent. XD

To all the people who "hate" Tarus or partying with them... have you ever stopped to think that some people may play as a Taru because of their statistical advantages over other races when it comes to magic?
If I'm going to me a mage, chances are Taru is my best bet. I can heal well, enfeeble well, and nuke well.
I don't act all "cute" and I only do panic emote or other such actions when requested... Personally, I don't overdue the "cuteness" and I am all business when it comes to leveling.
I'm not going to turn around and insult any other race, mostly because I have half a brain, unlike the topic starter, but also because they all bring something to the table. All the races in this game have their place, so don't hate.
Also, not to brag, but when it comes to magic, Tarus ~are~ "all that"... why shouldn't they be? They are at a disadvantage for everything else...

Unfortunately, Taru Tarus are the best race for the core of jobs that are the most important in the game: The Mages.
Many Mages in this game are spoiled brats, never having to endure the leveling that a non-Paladin melee does. Mages can afford to be dickheads in this game, because they still get groups. I'm still a lowbie myself (have a War/Mnk) but I've already encounter an overwhelming amount of asshole mages.
To give you an example of how retarded the Mages I've run across on Ragnarok in my range as getting:
Back when I was level 17 with my Mnk (which is now the sub for my War), I formed my own group (as I tend to do) and invted a Taru WHM/BLM to my party.
He/she immediately joins the party and starts acting like a boss. There were times I wanted to just tell him to shutup, but I didn't for fear of losing the WHM and thus getting my PT broken. Eventually, I have to leave, and I pass on leadership to a member.
I return an hour later, and ask the group I had left if they have a spot via a tell to the leader, which ended up being this same Taru WHM/BLM. He/She said they had a spot, and asked me what class I was. I was thinking: WTF? I just grouped with you an hour earlier! I told her I was a Monk, and get this: He/She goes "Oh." I ask him/her what she meant by that? It turns out that he/she didn't want a Monk for the party. The very same party I invited her to! Thanks a WHOLE lot.
He/She is not the only Mage that's copped an enormous attitude, and I doubt she'll be the last.
Too many Mages in this game are spoiled rotten, and too many of them are Taru (understandable, since Taru make the best casters). And y'know what? As long as they do their job, no one does anything about it. Soon as they leave one party, they'll get scooped up right for another.
Wanna know what melees call an asshole melee who cops an attitude? A future mage, because they aren't going to get anywhere with that attitude as a melee (which struggle for parties).
I'm not saying all Tarus OR Mages are jerks, not at all. I'm just saying I know where some of this Taru hate is coming from.
