  • New jobs in future

I heard from a couple people that the jobs "Blue Mage" and "Time Mage" may be added in future updates. Is there anyone that has heard this rumour also?

    Haha "Pwned" you ju!

What I had heard is that some people were throwing those jobs around as ones they would like to see.
As I recall there was an interview with the Developers on a Japanese site, while they discussed many elements of the upcoming expansion, the discussion did not include the addition of new jobs.

I cannot remember the posts that refer to them on this site, but they are here somewhere.

    hope that helps

Those are just jobs that people would like to *see* in the game. They're not planned to be in the game. It's also been stated that they have no plans to add in no jobs at this time.

I dunno about a time mage. But i do believe Blue MAge will be put in. After all, whm has a lot of time magic... so what would make a time mage special?

I know its not going to happen, but would having the "Calculator" be cool? I mean, they were the most BROKEN mage in FFT... ^^ good times good times...

                Geomancers could be neat...

But really, all in all there arent many classes left that would be practical that have not been put in... Squenix pretty much nailed all the right classes on the head.

Maybe Dancer, just for the fact that I want to see a galka do Winzibus or Witch Hunt... ^^ haha

Omg..not this lame crap again. This topic will ramble on for 20 pages about what a time, blue, rainbow, purple, so on and so forth mage will do. Also, geomencer, assassin, chocobo knight(wtf????), etc. If your going to come up with a job make it reasonable. Like maybe a writer of spells or something. You can make your own magic spells and mix it with others, in the end it will become a book and you can use at a certain level -- ex/rare. The reason for ex/rare will be so you can't just buy it, the person has to make in order to use.

I dont know who came up with the lame idea of a chocobo knight..but they really didn't consider everything for it. I mean the job should just be nicknamed Dark Knight or something. Inless, your on a chocobo while in the field (unfair to other players) then the job would be just pointless.......

Blue mages dont have spells of their own, they copy monster abilities and sue those

Blue mage was a class first introduced back in FFV, then later re-appeared in FFVI (Strago), FFVII(enemy skill materia), FFVIII(Quistis), FFIX(Quina), and FFX(Kimahri). It's also in FFTA

Basically, blue mages learn their spells/skills from the enemy. Usually when it's used on them. So in order to get all the abilities, you have to go around and get messed up by various monsters.

Some signature blue mage moves are White Wind (heal all allies by the amount of your own remaining HP), Big Guard (multiple protective spells), Lv? xxxx (damage/status to enemies with level devisible by the number), roulet (randomly kill an enemy OR AN ALLY).

The obtaining of the skills are the tricky/fun/agonizing part of this job. First of all, not every skills are learnable. You either need a list from someone who already tested them all, or just have to test it out yourself.

                              Then comes the tricky part of actually having the monster use the exact skill on you. This is not a problem for something like the goblin bomb, because, they just love to blow you up. ... :sweat: but in some cases, the monster will hardly ever execute it, let alone execute it on YOU. I can't imagine in a game aush as FFXI, someone as a mage trying to get screw driver used on him.... -_-;;;

Some skills monster don't even use on you normally.... like white wind. unless you have someone else controlling the monster for you.
