Bard. Lots of Bards.

I am just wondering why there has been such a high recent increase of BRD job since US release^^? Can someone tell me why there is soo many BRDs out there now?

There are like 10 BRD's in my linkshell..yet whenever I go for a party or start inviting people I dont see one on...

There are never enough bards.

It takes like just a few weeks to level to max anyhow (instant SELECTION of parties when you log on, every party is at least decent cuz they have a bard: you, lol), so people don't stay as bard for very long hehe. :p

I have no idea, but every single mage class person I know (linkshell or otherwise) is talking about being a bard. I don't know how anyone could consider the bard to be the most sought after class, since past 30, white mages will become even more rare, since so many have moved on to the advanced job of their choice.

brd is more sought after than whm, cos rdm (especially later) can fill the roll of tank curer, as can blm if it has to.
no other class can do what brd does.

Don't get me wrong but I am pretty sure that Summoner takes the role of cure tank over Red Mage.

Yea... I get PT invites way too much -_-
I log on for like 3 minutes to check my AH Sales, and I get a "PT Kumimaseka ^^" from a JP, and another from an NA player lol.
BRD's get PT's pretty much... Instantly.
Since they make the EXP go so much quicker for everyone :D

What you guys are saying is pretty funny for me, because as a BRD I log on, put party flag up, and hardly get invites (it could be because I have "JE" flagging but hardly any of the high level players mind it when the party starts). Rough estimate, from level 40-50 I've received 2 or 3 invites, usually after I've been chilling or farming for a few hours. Other times I can sit it town for hours and get nothing. So, I create around 95% of the parties :\

I was only once in a party with a bard. He looked so bored that I could actually picture him banging his head against his desk.

Granted this was just low lvl teens...it looked like a very, very boring job.

I think Bard is just one of them jobs you either love or hate, i'm in the former in that when I play it I absolutly love what i'm doing. I don't doubt that, in it's own way, Bard is the hardest job in the game to play if you desire to do it well. I don't think Bard is a good first job you should do though because it's pretty useless for things outside leveling, such as hunting NM's and making Gil, but you will never have a problem joining esoteric hunts, BCNM and mission shout and will infact make a major difference.
