JP Acct: Forgot address, name, phone - screwed?

Got a JP acct - forgotten my original address, phone and name that i used to register the acct. I used the fake address that (was it jonnyram???) was posted when FFXI first launched and most importers used that.

Stopped payment for content IDs last Sep - trying to return but website doesnt accept my type B reactivation.

Called Japan they asked for my address or phone but i told them i couldnt remember.

Anyone has that old address and phone info still?

That old address information might not help you, since so many people used it. What you really need is the credit card number that you used to activate the account with, along with the POL account number that you used to log in. Those two should be sufficient for reactivation, I think?

I actually did quote my last 4 numbers of the CC details to the JP POL staff but she kept on mentioning NAME, ADDRESS etc...i even had my registration codes could name ALL my characs but no go...

it looks like there used to be a guide posted in this forum w/ a fake Japanese address on it, but all of the links i've found thru the search were broken. maybe PiNG can help u w/ the backup he might keep.


just so u know, cc number usually doesn't suffice as means to verify an individual in Japan, even in this sort of company-customer relationships. since there's nothing like SS# that is widely used here, verifying an individual requires address, phone #, and/or DOB in addition to our names, and in most cases combination of at least 2 of them, w/ address and DOB often given priority. it's a Japanese culture, there's nothing we can do anything about it.

not to mention JP acct holders in Japan have options of paying thru their ISP's or prepaid cards (WebMoney), so accepting cc number as means of verification results in unfairness against those paying w/ non-cc options.

Fake address won't work if they decide to give you a "call" to verify your identity. All I can say is you're screwed, especially if someone else already "used" that fake address.

Unless the system is really stupid where it won't even bother to verify a new fake addy with an old fake one ...
