I have FFXI on my PS2, so I'm already registered and etc, so pretty much what I'm trying to do was to install FFXI on my laptop.
Now... I had it on my first laptop HDD, once upon a time ago, but it was a 20gb HDD, and with RoZ and CoP, I had to uninstall it since it was about an 11gb game (if I'm not mistaken...)
But I didn't uninstall POL, since that took up virtually no space by comparison.
Anyway, the first problem I have is that even though I copied the POL folder to my new hard drive, I can't open POL, and I'm suspecting that it's a registry problem. No matter the hard drive I try to open POL from, I get this error:
[Error code = 20008014
Cannot open registry key for install path of PlayOnline-compatible software
ID-1000]
So essentially, I have POL on my other, barely alive hard drive, and I want to put it on my brand spanking new hard drive.
But now I have a new hard drive, but no POL CD.
How in the blue fudge can I copy the registry of my other hard drive, specifically, the key values of POL?
I'm guessing that they're located here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PlayOnlineUS\~~~]
