I have both of those programs and I run them regularly. As for restoring, I don't think it would be a very good idea to restore so far back (plus I have no idea when this "started" because it was so innocous at first that I didn't bother to try to fix it, all I know is that it's something like months ago).

Ok time for an update,

I've been walking aroud ffxi attempting to get it to crash so I can look at the ngo monitor to determine if the card is overheating or whatnot. The problem is I haven't been able to crash it yet, not even the big room in wajaom woodlands (which always gives me a terrible framerate) doesn't do it. I even soloed my qudav crest for genkai 3 and no crash. The next step is to try to get an exp party (could take a while loldrg ;P).

Ok it hasn't happend at all since the last time so I'm gonna say that I'll stop worrying about it for now. I might try a beseiged as a last resort test though.

Edit: Wow a few minuets after I posted this it crashed again, way to jinx it.
