    Unless SE's right hand doesn't talk to the left, which is very possible, they have stated several times before they had no intention of raising the level cap because it would destroy the games balance.     Second, it appears that the way to level to 99 is going to require the new addons, which were an experiment last year to see how well they did. So even if there was a little bit of forethought put here, you are talking at most 6-9 months working on this, by a team that appears to have been picked clean of all but the very minimum to keep XI going, after they could gauge the sales for the previous three addons.

    All I see this is SE expects most to jump ship to FFXIV and this is just squeezing the most money out of XI until then.

    Look at how the job adjustments of the previous two years were done. Look at all the soloability options for the present levels of the game. You don't think any of that is a factor towards what they were planning to do?

    What SE expects to happen and what does happen are two different things. They never expected NIN to be a tank job.
    The same thing you just said here could be said of any job in any MMO by any developer.

    That is because game designers are not the only designing force in a persistant online game. Its proof of the Chaos Theory if I've ever seen it. Players will find a way. You either design around what the players come to enjoy or you nerf it because you don't like it. SE has nerfed a few things here and there, but never NIN tanking, manaburns or TP burns.

    And people have complained the game has been on Easy Mode since ToA, many people are leaving the game because they feel there is nothing left to look forward to except the same old endgame grind. What is the way you combat that?

    Just happy to see you again, Aks. Yeah, honestly I was pretty pleased with the prospect of being "done" with rdm and focusing my attention on other jobs. Now I'm going to have so much catching up to do.

    This is exactly how I feel. If I considered coming back before, that thought has been irrevocably banished from my brain. I worked hard to get my character to where she was and it was years of blood sweat and tears, and I'd be damned if I would go through all that again. People are forgetting how much of a bitch it was to get certain pieces of gear in this game, and with the current "if you don't have that you're gimp" mentality, hell with continuing to play in that world.

    Leveling is a pain in the ass, and let's raise the cap so that every good camp in the universe is overcrowded and you're all reduced to the terribly unfun prospect of 10k/hr - if you're lucky - while everyone with multiple 75s rushes to get to the new cap as quickly as possible on more than one job. Let's overcrowd camps/NM pop spots for new gear, and of course, let's jack up the price of anything and everything craftable while we're at it. All while merging servers and causing even more major traffic jams.

    No thank you. I don't see how SE can possibly do this without fucking everything up. Here we had the best gear that we worked our asses off for - relics, mythics, salvage gear, king abjurations, Dynamis - some of that shit took me years to get and you're going to go and obsolete all of it in favor of keeping the game on life support? And yes, I did note that they are making quests for the relics to be upgraded, but seriously. Seriously. If they were going to raise the cap, they could have done it ... I don't know ... before introducing a second set of "relic-ish" weapons to the game, or sometime before the merit points came into play, or maybe with one of the previous expansions, instead of standing strong and FIRMLY STATING they would never ever raise it and the game was in perfect balance at 75.

    And people wonder why there are some who don't believe a single fucking thing SE says or trust anything they do?

    I am so, so, so glad I quit when I did.

    I hope you don't mind me and my rants. I know my opinion is moot because I quit, but this is just absolutely ridiculous to me. So allow my ridiculous bitching at least once more. If not, well, I'll delete it and be on my merry way.
