  • Do you plan on buying the next expansion chapter?

As above. I preordered aCP thinking any amount of content would be worth ten bucks but ended up being disappointed by it. I'll probably wait til I can get the opinions of others this time and if it's a leap and a bound better than aCP then maybe pick it up.

See, not only does that feel no different from RMT to me, but there's no way I would ever consider ten bucks for an armor to be remotely close to a good deal.

True, but a lot of us also paid for that security token, for no other reason than the additional inventory space The story wasnt half bad, but it coulda been better too...........maybe the other two stories will be better and have a better reward?

No. But you should've been expecting that.

Honestly, I think SE might've shot themselves in the foot with ACP. Mini-expansions could be very good, if done well, and they've turned people off them in a bad way.

Amen to that, altho I'm not really turned off them yet, ill prolly get them just to have them.

I'm all about completion. Unlocking all jobs, leveling all crafts (admittedly I'm slow with this), doing all missions, etc. I will get it just for that purpose.

I do hope the story is a bit more beefy and the missions are less farm, more interesting stuff.

I will leave it on the honor of SE to make it actually good this time instead of a mediocre 1-day event.

I voted maybe because there's always the chance IF SE makes it worth it this time and adds an extra to compensate for the last one.

But the scale will start from WGAF and go up from there depending on what they actually do next time.

Re: Do you plan on buying the next expansion chapter?

I still think people are jumping to conclusions that the content is said and done. ACP addressed the last remaining and dangling CoP plot thread and brought closure for Aldo. I mean, do I have to point out the the recognition between Ulmia and and the otherwise amnesiac Mathilde?

                    spoiler stuff

That aside, these missions were blatantly constructed so people would have practically no trouble revisiting the content. There are other rewards worth perusing besides the end reward. Its just that like so much other content in the game its left completely to chance.

I don't feel like I paid for one piece of gear at all, nor do I think buying the security token was just for the inventory space. I actively use my token when logging on to the game, so that security means something to me.

As far as the brevity and short story of ACP goes - I blame the playerbase for this. They complain and complain about the "running around" they have to do. They fuss about the preparations they have to make for certain missions. They fuss about the difficulty of CoPs.

Really, should I be surprised this content was braindead easy with the only smidge of difficulty coming from the last fight? That's no different than ToA was or how WotG have been so far. I blame the players for that too. Those that couldn't stand the time investment, difficulty or coordination to complete Zilart or even CoPs are the ones that made things this way.

If you really want to say something about these missions, then drop the "RMT" bullshit and cut right to the fact that SE is listening to the wrong parts of our community when they make this content. Its so easy to just go "SE fails again," and assume this didn't happen for a reason other than SE wanting to make a quick buck.

Really, I wish they'd apply the CoP/Rank mission design to all mission content. I know we'd still have people like Raydeus who would whine about "the timesink" but hey, CoP separates the wheat from the chaff. Other missions could, too, IF people didn't want them to be so fucking easy.

Now you are imagining things too?

I never said anything about CoP outside the fact of having to mule gear for it, which has already been resolved (waaaay too late, but still eventually resolved.)

I know you try desperately to pull anything to make your arguments stick. But really, do yourself a favor and just put me back in your ignore list before I put you in mine.

PS > And about missions, every expansion has different types of content and mission structure, some are easier than others but you can always expect a certain amount of content and quality. So compared to that precedent the "add-on" wasn't even worth 1 buck no matter how blindly you want to try to defend SE.

Unless of course ACP content isn't finished yet and we can expect future updates for it.

Has SE mentioned anything about that?

I would be surprised if they patched in additional content for aCP. They might take the loose ends BBQ mentioned and tie it into The Last Verse. To do more than that they'd have to be developing more content in parallel with WotG, which doesn't seem likely.

The problem with COP-level difficulty isn't that it requires the player to be skilled, it's that it requires their party to be skilled.

I could be the best BLM in the world, but if I have a shitty tank, I'm never going to clear a mission. COP is more a test of logistics and patience than of skill.

Stop flattering yourself, I was talking about other people bitching about the missions. I cited you for your whiny talk about travel, that's it. You're the one imagining things here. Just like you imagine you're somehow clever.

Interesting you claim I pull anything to make my arguments stick and "blindly defending" SE yet, you have lingering doubts about how complete the content actually is. Wasn't that what my defense was?

The only blame I lay on SE is for listening to the wrong players and weakening the content for them. But they're ultimately a business and they don't make such actions without a reason. They're doing what they would do to please customers. So I have to blame the players for not taking the higher ground sooner on such content. SE wouldn't have designed ACPs as they did if they thought it wouldn't please the players.

We took the easy missions in ToA and WotG and very few complained. Most of that stuff could be done in a day, too, it just they placed forced waiting times on it to create the illusion of length.

I've never had issues with length, just difficulty. My issue is that ACP was too easy for the powerful rewards granted and that's the only issue I take with it.

Thankfully, most players have proven to have shit for brains and made thier reward into a free Hauby. It shows me the players SE needs to stop listening to. Maybe SE should look at it that way as well.

Could just be they threw the plot thread out there so WotG could pick up Mathilde and not have to explain her. She's central to ACP and the Great War in some ways, but a WTF moment in CoP. I think to not pick up on what's been implied by her involvement would be a wasted opportunity.

As I said, something lands Mathilde in Selbina with no memories and we're not sure what that event is.

We've seen the repercussions of coming into contact with great forces like the crystals, magicite and how they affected Prishe and Eld'narche, we can assume Mathilde just got stricken in a different way, but it still doesn't tell how she got away from the Kindred and why she ended up in Selbina.

Re: Do you plan on buying the next expansion chapter?

I think they intended the early and middle parts of ACP to be accessible to non-75s (i.e. the parts that give you non-75 aug gear), but they didn't put level caps on them because of the enormous volume of whining about CoP (which is *still* ongoing, see Feba above).

I would bet money that level caps were part of the original design of ACP and the suits nixed them because they were so unpopular in CoP, and that several of the ACP fights would be a lot more tense if you weren't just powering through them with 75s. Imagine those mandies with about a 40 cap, or the beastmen BCNM at 60. Not such a joke now, are they? It'd be like doing the RoZ job quests *at 30* or AFs/Shadowlord at 60, which some of the other really old players here might remember actually doing before the game was crawling with 75s. Those were challenging and fun fights - at the level they were designed for. Now they're jokes, or even soloable.

Without the caps ACP is just a bunch of running around farming (the only part they kept the cap on was the Delkfutt run, which most people ruin the challenge of by bringing along a high level escort). So congratulations crybabies, you broke ACP.

And if I'm right about what happened to ACP and if the suits are reading this: the game now *is* crawling with 75s, and if it's possible for people to trivialize content by coming as a level 75 job/bringing a 75 friend, they will do that *and* then complain about how there was no challenge, as this thread testifies. Low level missions *can* be a challenge to high level players - but only if their level isn't allowed to trivialize them, i.e. if they are level capped. Next time the devs tell you that, listen.

P.S. I know a few people who repeat the early/middle parts of ACP for aug gear, which you can't do if you don't have it, so it's not *just* about the one reward at the end. The randomness of the aug items makes it kind of a time sink, so repeating the same fights over and over until you get the gear you want isn't just for 70+s anymore.
