what gives? something wrong? when i try coming here through firefox it says it's blocked.. "Reported Attack Site!"

works with IE though, just curious...

I just alerted the site owner of the problem via IM. He's looking at it now. There seem to be links to malware somewhere on the site, but we can't seem to find out where.

There aren't any banners or other external links on the site as far as we know, but I'll update as soon as we can figure out what's causing the warning flags to go up.

I saw that message on Saturday, and didn't have access to another computer until today so that I could send a message to someone about it. Nice job guys! And a big thanks to Ping for keeping us updated on this.

I have good news and bad news to report. Spoke to PiNG last night after he scanned the site database.

Bad news: There WAS a link to malware on a site - posted by a new user in the forums. It got zapped by a moderator within a few hours, but it still got spotted by the web spiders crawling over the site.

Good news: No other traces were found.

Net result: I think what will probably happen is that new users will not be able to post any links of any sort. It's one thing to get a funny message about cheap shoes, and quite another to get the entire site blacklisted by Google and FireFox.

Didn't that exist before and was removed because it wasn't friendly to new users?

Agreed. Most of the moderators were quite happy with that little tweak. It's obviously not in place currently either since I've had to ban to porn advertisers this morning already.

IIrc the issue with the "new users not allowed to post links" bit was because it counted smilies as links too, and just a simple would nuke a whole message. Now if there's a choice between nuked new user posts and bot-accounts posting virus filled crap sites, pulling this place offline, I say tough noogies new meat, deal or gtfo!

Oh, spiffy, the user group thingie seems to have gotten updated titles!

Just like with the last redesign when it went away then came back, it's most likely all still there.

I'm more worried about how weird looking the site is right now.

Actually, everything was reset to 0 gil after the last redesign since all the shop stuff was rebuilt from the ground up and the RPG system was completely removed. Personally I couldn't care less about the gil as all it was really used for was mainly changing other people's titles and such to funny-yet-relevant names.
