They know they're producing an addictive product and yet they constantly disregard established health guidelines while creating new content and leaving it down to the "individual's choice".

I also think they're living in a dreamworld if they ever expect encounters like this to form some wondrous bridge of love and understanding between Japanese and North American players.

Welcome to the Japanese business model vs the American.

EDIT: Reading Rukenshin's posts, my disgust for SE has now been sealed. There is no justifying that bullshit and there's nothing that'll convince me otherwise.

You make 18+ hour encounters in a game where there are droves of addicts of varying levels you know they won't be able to resist.
Ok, you should just stop your starting to remind me of those really heavy people taking Mcdonalds to court b/c their food made them fat, no one forced you to eat, its your own damn fault you ended up that way. -point made

Oh and to comment what you said about looking the NM's up. I was not meaning a walk through in fact I was leaning more towards figuring out your own way to beat it, When you go to wiki and type in PW you do not get a walk through of how to beat him, you get his stats what he uses all the JA's and everything associated with it. If you are going to attempt a mob other than AV you should be smart enough to devise your own tactics. This game is not going to spoon feed itself to you.

        First post in ages, wut?

Just thought I'd add my take on it:

It's all well and good that they intend the monster to be fought in shifts, but everyone who isn't in the alliance/online at the ToD doesn't get a shot at anything, no title, no recognition for their work, nor anything else. If they want to play this off as some 'cross-region' event, then idk, make it actually function like one?

hmmm. Probably should have called for help on it. I could see SE doing something like that. Call for help, and the mob locks it's form and can now be defeated. Wonder if they tried that. I haven't been able to read the post's as i'm at work, but I can almost guess they never called for help on the guy. Imagine if you had 120 people beating on this thing and it's lamps...It probably wouldn't last 18hrs at that point.

The mystery continues... as does the debate...

          18hrs!!!

An accidental CFH on PW would probably have forced BTL to give up sooner.

Your right, but I ment an intentional call for help. i mean, hell they were at the 18hr mark, why not, instead they just quit? what if that was the trick? Sounds a bit greedy to me. I could be wrong, I haven't done enough re-search into how the fight went.

"Did he just call for help!?!?!??!"
                "OMFG!!! HE DID"
"WHAT DID YOU DO!!??? YOUR OUT OF THE SHELL!!!"
(PW says some B.S. then transforms into it's final form and starts taking dmg like a regular tough NM)
                "wtf!!? x 36"

Everyone that was in on the fight gets a key item they can exchange for an as of yet revealed group of items and a title. "Total Pandemonium"

Nah, that would be to easy...SE would never do that.

Nope, but we also don't have to put in a metric butt ton of work just to set up those events either. PW takes a lot of work just to make him pop. Anyone care to guess the amount of man hours it takes to farm all the necessary Zeni to purchase the pop items for 30 different ZNMs and to purchase the salts necessary to fight the Tier IVs, and then to actually do all the fights?

If someone else wants to put in that kind of work just for me -- potentially a total random stranger -- to experience a fight against PW, I don't mind leeching.

                    • Re: So.. Pandemonium Warden

But this isn't a 'LS event', all the pro-PW people are saying it's meant to be played in shifts, possibly to bring other linkshells/player bases into a massive over-alliance to overcome the horrid beast! <cue ponies, rainbows, and other nonsense>

Of course you don't get something out of every event. Dyna, Sky, etc. But those are fights that can be handled by one 'shift' of people, and usually with less collaboration. Therefore you have the potential for reward, or at least get a title to say 'Yes, I stood up against this and overcame.'

This is not the case here. No one's going to believe anyone without the title took on that thing and won, especially not if it's going to take shifts, and you'll end up with over 40+ people who contributed. I do, however, think they should all be recognized for their work.

Either make a system for the thing that allows a larger alliance, or a points recognition system (hello Besieged, Campaign, how are you?) to at least distribute the title. It would only take a wee more effort on SE's part to ensure everyone who helped at least got the title, or some measly token of appreciation. And I don't mean gear.

Hell, even I, in all my anti-social-I'm-not-partying, who-gives-a-damn-about-endgame attitude would love to get with a group going at this thing, and have a 'shift'. But there's no way I'd do it if I don't even get the title for defeating it when it goes down. Waste of my time. I'm not the type that gets 'pride' out of defeating pixellated objects in any game. I either beat it or I don't, but it doesn't make or break my pride. So giving myself a sense of 'pride' is not an achievement here. A title would be enough for me. Gear I couldn't give less of a damn about.

Um, they didn't CFH on that specific form, no, but they explicitly point out that PWs behavior generally upon being CFH'd is known; it simply despawns when its current form is killed.
