  • Farming EP's

Selphie's guide is awesome, but does anyone have a break down as to which is the best area to farm per level and still be fighting EP's so BS's are attainable? Case in point is my lvl 47 thf. I'm thinking pashow / rolanberry, but i'm not sure...

In general, you can figure that a mob will be low EP at 10 levels below you.

What mobs are good to farm that are 10 levels below you? I'll leave that up you to research.

You're never going to see such a thing.

Job selection, Subjob selection, gear, playing style and skills play a major MAJOR part of soloing against EP level mobs.

And so if you are good you could probably take on some EP beastmen for good seal drops. Instead of the lovely seal grind you're going to be in for.

My advice. Drop your THF and go run around with a pointy stick at lv1-10 for every job in the game. You'll get a lovely boost in seals, possible subjobs, lots of crystals (possible some crafting or farming too *cough Giddues*)

That's good to know, i didn't know that. So, if im level 47, the weakest mobs i can fight and still get BS's are level 37. Thanks!

So I wouldn't follow the 10 leveles in stone as its prety much constantly changeing as to how much SE likes you (and SE hates each and every one of tis children)

Try to look up come possible camping zones with FFXIclopedia and perhaps even look into the DNc solo areas if you have it as a sub job and go where they would about 6 levels ago. If you don't have DNc sub well... go get it

There in lies the problem, i have 4 jobs lvl 20, all other jobs are 40+. I can't run around with a pointy stick...

I have an urge to beat you across the head with a large herring right now.

If BST is 20 then you should know of its ungodley seal gathering abilites. If it's 40+ you should be able to fill a swimming pool with seals.

You must be rather greedy for seals when you have all those hundreads of pre 50 jobs leveled. Might I ask as to what the bejeebus you've wasted the several thousand on? Or are you one who doesn't sort their inventory and lets all the goodies drop to the sorters? (oh how i lvoe the lazy buggers filling my gobbiebags with BC gold)

I can't get into bst atm, so i'm not inclined to farm with it. I have dnc at 29, and i'm trying to get it to 37 first-thing-first. Then i'm going to hop on 47 thf, with TH2, this should be ideal when i'm lfg.

As far as what i did with them, I spent my seals... As you said, having all those jobs leveled, and leveled well, takes gil. BCNM40 do you need it?

Those who don't sort their inventory????

If you're ina party and dont sotry your inventory you're gonna hit XX/XX then get no drops for the rest of the entire ... well ever till you sort the sodding thing.

where as I can sit there happy and gleefull getting loads of seals by hitting about 4 keys every 20 min sorting my inventory getting all the drops.

                    Re: Farming EP's

Correct answer: Farm on BST. Then you're not limited to Easy Prey.

Ok, here's more specific information on EP rating as you go up in level.

Final Fantasy XI Experience Charts at Somepage

Scroll down about half way through the page, and you'll see the chart for how much exp you get against Even Match mobs and below (as opposed to Even Match and above). Boxes with dashes mean the mob will con TW. Shaded grey, from what I can tell, are EP mobs which will not aggro, while the lighter grey indicates EP mobs which can aggro you (if they are aggressive to begin with).
