  • Question for GMs

Hello, I was wondering how far a GM can trace a log back. Awhile back I lent someone some gear through trading it to them and now they won't give it back. Is there anything a GM could do about this? Does anyone know if this would be on their log or if there is anything that can be done? Do they keep logs on things like this for a long time or not? I havnt been playing long so I dont know any of this.

    Re: Question for GMs

GMs generally won't do anything about this. They will suggest that you be more careful about who you lend things to in the future, but in most cases they will not remove that item from the other player and give it back to you.

oh Do you know how far their logs can trace back? Do you think they could look and see the trade? Maybe if anything they could mark the person as having potention to do this.

I don't honestly know how far back they can trace. Seeing the details of your trade isn't going to help them know if the person has a history of doing this sort of thing, unfortunately.

How well did you know this person, exactly?

This isn't really the sort of question appropriate for the forum. You're better off asking a GM in-game. The likelihood of anything happening in this case is nigh close to zero, though it doesn't hurt to ask I suppose.

I believe they stated in the public reveal of the GM Policy that their logs go back one week. -- Pteryx

              Re: Question for GMs

I believe the logs can trace back 10 days. Weather or not you'll get you item back can't be assured weather it's in the that 10 day period or not.

The best thing to do is to talk to your friend and trap them into saying they won't give you back the item you loaned them. If a GM has an admission of guilt from the player he may be able to return the item (though that is not a guarentee, there's more factors to it than anyone knows).

They can't just take you word of course because they don't know if you gave the item away, sold it, or traded it for another item. And arguing the value of something won't help much as 'value' is assigned by players not SE. So if he traded you a rock salt for a kraken club it's all the same to SE. Juse Kracken Club +1 to him and Rock Salt +1 to you.

Personally I'd make sure that you and your friend can't come to a solution. If you've really tried honestly everything you could, and they're just straight up stealing you item, then see is a GM can help you.
