Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
Sev: learn to read please.
Susurs: of course. Minor disagreements with things that have nothing to do with the actual content gogo. I dislike that some of the founding fathers had slaves. Fuck the US and your slave owning founders. I'm gonna go start my own country, with drugs and hookers.
In fact, forget the country.

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
I do, but regardless of who's wrong or right in the FFXIclopedia fiasco, the fact is that some people no longer want to be associated with FFXIclopedia under any circumstances. A second Wiki was probably an inevitability even if the BG dudes hadn't been planning this for a while.DOES NOBODY ELSE SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM?

Unless you make a big deal about it before hand, state that your working on it and when its available it's going to be awesome.Originally posted by SevIfrit View PostGod damn it people, only armando gets it.
YOU ANNOUNCE A WIKI WHEN IT LAUNCHES DUE TO THE FACT IT IS UPDATED BY THE COMMUNITY.
Whooooosh at anyone who says needs more info.
In which case if you release it to the general public before it has articles, well, some people are going to be really underwhelmed.

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
I know this post will probably get overlooked among the spam of useless argument threads, but...
Here is my opinion on why a new Wiki is a bad idea.
ffxiclopedia was a central location for everyone to be able to update. Now those updates are SPLIT. Now neither can be the single click resource, have to check TWO sites now.
One location to find something > Two.
DOES NOBODY ELSE SEE THIS AS A PROBLEM?

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
Exactly, but then he's not posting a thread on a resource, he's asking for help. And anyone asking for help to do something that's already been done should deal with the statements that come with that.In all fairness, being a Wiki, it makes sense to announce it as soon as it's launched so all possible contributors can get to doing their contributing as early as possible.

Just a little fun: a thread wouldn't get this derailed on BG unless it was made to get derailed like a "Drama" thread. But a resource thread? Nope. Maybe you guys haven't been noticing it, but the quality of FFXIonline has been dropping quite a bit. I used to refer everyone new to these boards, but things have changed. You got Feba(and his circle of asskissers), who posts more than anyone and doesn't even play the god damn game and I can't recall the last time I've heard good advice given. Kaelia is like an abortion gone wrong and has somehow survived to live to this day, giving us her pay back of being picked on highschool(for being a weeaboo furry probably). Don't get me started on the few posters who refuse to acknowledge they are wrong and go around with this false aura of superiority and prejudice. For all the elitism BG is accused of, a new player would be probably get much more help from that website using the "Newbie Boards".
Let's have less shitfests and less hypocritical bashing of other websites. Maybe the quality can go up.
lock this one so you can start another one, and have peopel post in ot? how about no -.-
I will at least give BG-wiki a chance... but good god, finish more of the database core info, before making any more "announcements"
Feba is right about what was sold, it could have been handled better.....
it wasn't people are acting like FFXI-wiki has cooties, even I have acted out a bit -.-
Everyone grow up, and stop acting like children (self included)
another Wiki, honestly is pointless, we already have a better one with all updated into.

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
Needless to say I still find it funny many of the people who said they don't like BG in previous threads because things get derailed, helped derail this thread. AFK back to working on ninja guide and nm pages for bg wiki.

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
If we could have a new thread with a "please don't post your retarded diatribe" rule, that'd be nifty.
But honestly, there isn't much to discuss at this point. We know the Wiki is up now, and if we wan to contribute (or use it) we can.

Re: Introducing the BG-Wiki
Well the thread started off just fine, and someone came in and started the drama. That's all it takes, just one post. After the drama had passed and all was (relatively) all right with the world again, we commenced with the lulz.
True, it's a bit extreme, but if a message board isn't for information, flamebait, debate, making up, and lulz, then I don't know what it's for.

Who the hell posts a database site as a resource when it doesn't even have a page for Ronfaure?

It definitely wouldn't be FFXI, I can barely make enough gil to attend Limbus twice a week, let alone enough to sell for rent money!Originally posted by Feba View PostWhich was what the "if it paid well" was for.
I've looked into this stuff before. If I wanted to RMT, I have a good idea of what game I'd play and how I'd do it.

You obviously don't know how boring working in Finance is.Originally posted by Legal Fish View PostWhat the hell is wrong with you people?
Why is this 8 pages in less than 12 hours?
And there were lolcats, so it's ok.
