Yeah Bas-toook annoyed me too so I say Bas-tock.

It isn't Bastook, the sound is a mix between took and tock.
I'll leave it for you to practice that one, it sounds much better than Bastook

Luckily for us, the Japanese version has these spellt out phonetically.


Jeuno = ジュノ (jyu no)

So would that make it sound like "Jee-yue-no" or "June-o"? Of course this is a trivial difference, but continuing to make this thread evermore confusing sounds like a good idea.

I doubt it's personal; I've seen Matera throw "JC" around as an interjection a few times. He was just saying 'That was out of left field.' Not like 'Wow you're dumb.'

That's what I was agreeing with a minute ago. Like if somebody said they used "Wined-thirst" or something.

I personally like to throw a little "Sweet Buddha!" into the mix from time to time.

Way-no is pretty odd.

Not that I don't have my own odd pronunciations. I always say Hume as "hyoo-may," which has to be wrong. Even if it was katakanized as hu+me it'd still be pronounced "hoo-may" whereas I think all the english speakers I know say "hyoom."

I had a friend in high school who pronounced chocobo as "cha-KA-bo." ^^ I have to admit that has some style.

I had a friend in high school who pronounced chocobo as "cha-KA-bo." ^^ I have to admit that has some style.

"Cha-KAY-bo"? My freaking brother-in-law is the king of weird pronunciations. He gives chocobo the old "Coke-oh-bo."

He also says Paladin as "Puh-LADD-in" (like Aladdin, which could actually be correct for all I know), while I say "Pal-uh-den." And cactuar becomes "Kak-tar" while I say "kakt-ewe-arr."

Edit:I actually say it more like "Kak-twarr" I feel better.

I'm sure he had another really odd one floating around somewhere.
