Thanks, SE for only making 3 (?) instances for Shinryu... and a 15 minute per hour window of weakness when everyone wants to jump in.

A ls-mate has, for the 2nd time ~ 2 weeks, D2'd me from a zone, without asking (and without passing the items in the pool) and thus resulting in me losing said item. I immediately let him have it, then /blisted him... It won't accomplish much, but it made me feel a little better.

Also, WTF doesn't SE incorporate some sort of confirmation message, similar to raise, for people receiving a D2/escape/tele/recall/retrace? Nobody should be allowed to make another person leave a zone against their will.

That has happened to me twice recently as well. Think I mentioned it before when a Ferine Necklace was suppose to be mine.

I did it as well by accident to someone too…I felt pretty shitty..
ALTHOUGH mine wasn’t as bad. I asked the guy if he wanted a D2 and he said “yes”…turns out though he was answering someone else’s question. I swear it looked like he was saying yes to me in the chat log. On top it was a MNK lotting on a ShaoLin Belt ><

I dunno if I’d like that lol. A LOT of times when I’m warping/escaping/tele-ing out is to save my party from a wipe. I could see this happing

        Do you accept Warp (yes/no)
        **Event skipped**
Goblin smithy hits romyro for 10 damage.
        Do you accept warp (yes/no)

I can not believe that still is not a part of the game. It seems like such a simple thing to implement.

There should only be a confirmation on D2 and D3, if you want my honest opinion. Those spells cast quickly and there's not enough time to either run out of range (if you're the target) or cancel if you're the caster. Recall/Tele/Escape all take a bit to cast so if you see it and you don't want it, you're more than capable of gtfo of range. D2 and D3 are the two that are most often used to grief people. Obviously Warp (D1) being self-target and therefore no way to grief yourself lulz.

Also, since D2 and D3 are single target (as is Tractor and Raise, those which do have confirmation windows), they should have it, Teles and Escape are full party so obviously that's stupid to get a full party to confirm something like that.

Eh, I don't agree with that at all. D2s have a fair amount of use inside Dynamis for getting rid of those people who go AFK the last 4 minutes of a run. How many currency would we have lost had it not been for D2s...

I wish they'd list food effects in the AH. I play on a console & don't usually have a computer particularly near me. It's just not worth the energy cost to have my laptop on to use it once per gaming session. If I want to look something up, I have to go into the other room.

                    • Re: What's your pet peeve in FFXI?

This is not an FFXI peeve, per se, but it is prevalent in most MMOs (including FFXI) so I'm including it here.

People who leave after one wipe.

Be it an xp party in XI, a PUG heroic in WoW, a raid, Dynamis, a boss fight, whatever, sometimes you just need to go in and run it once to get a feel for it, know what abilities it spams and how to avoid them, and yes, take it as a dry run with little to no hope of winning. In XP parties this is less prevalent, but sometimes shit happens, you pull before someone is ready and you end up wiping, and people get pissed and leave, usually out of a group that otherwise, would have been great. Or a group that had been performing great for a while, but one fuck up causes a wipe, and suddenly you're all noobs and totally suck at this game because shit happens? Wut?

It's just so stupid to me. Wiping on trash mobs is dumb, yes, but sometimes you just - oops - miscommunicate and after you come back and recover, everything is right with the world. This is especially annoying right now in WoW because this is new content. It's going to take people a bit to learn it. Give people a fucking chance. Yes, I sometimes screw up, that does not mean I'm a noob, baddie, scrub, idiot, fuckwit, fucksquat, dipshit, or should uninstall the game. Grow some fucking patience. And then if you keep wiping to the same shit, or someone keeps making the same mistake, then, either kick them or leave, your choice, but one wipe does not necessarily mean the group is shit.

Conversely, how many pieces of gear have you lost out on because some mouth-breathing stoner D2'd the wrong person.

I think there's some wiggle room in all that. Sometimes you can tell you are indeed partying with a bunch of fucksquaters by the first wipe. If it's just a slip-up then yeah there's no sense in throwing a hissy fit and leaving, but if the wipe is the symptom of an overall dysfunctional party that's going to make you want to pull your hair out for the rest of the night...well then yeah it's ok to take the wipe as an opportunity to GTFO.

Oh absolutely. And I'm frustrated with a lot of it in WoW right now, most of the time it's just an error of someone not communicating properly what is going to happen, which to some people is a good enough reason to bail. Not me. If it's a boss fight I've never done, I say so, and I ask what I need to watch out for. Sometimes people suck at explaining, though, so if I die to something that you didn't tell me was there, you don't have much of a right to be pissed at me.

Could I have read it on the wiki or wowhead? Yes, I could have, but you don't know which dungeon you're getting until it pops and you port in, which is hardly the time to look up and read boss mechanics. Sometimes it really is just a matter of doing a quick dry run, and even if you just say "Hey, this is a dry run, let's see how it goes," and wipe, you don't have a right to get mad. We said it was a fucking dry run!

                              Grr. Lol.

Insufferable party leaders that think they're the only person who knows what they're doing. Despite how many times my linkshell has fought Sobek, somehow I never got Atma of the Gnarled Horn. So today, I saw a pickup group doing Emp+2 items on Sobek. I made it clear to the leader that I was only in it for the Atma and was leaving after 1 run.

So we get there and he starts telling people what to do. That's perfectly fine with me since he's the party leader. But we haven't even entered Abyssea yet and he has already reminded me 4 times that I'm supposed to go get Azure lights on Ephemerals when we enter. He told us, verbatim, that we don't know what we're doing so we have to listen to him. It is at this point party members start exchanging tells to each other asking things like, "Who does he think he is?"

There was one guy who was unfamiliar with some of how Abyssea worked so he made a few mistakes in the beginning. Against Sirrush, the party leader got so annoyed by him that, when he got hate, he booted the party member and left him to die to the NM.

Now, what follows is probably something that belongs on that "Gives Me Hope" website, but soon people started to disband and put their Seek up and asked the guy to invite them so they could help finish Sirrush off. What was left was basically the entire group reformed, but without the party leader.

The douchebag started ranting about how events like this is what separates men from the boys and that we will never succeed without him (never mind that Sirrush is quite possibly the easiest NM in Abyssea) and that he was only looking out for our well being.

What was left was a fully functional group that knew how Abyssea lights worked, knew what weaponskills and spells were used to trigger Yellow and Red stagger weaknesses, and was actually pretty efficient at getting armor items. I know I often have distrust of pickup groups, but this one actually worked pretty well.

Never heard from the former group leader after. I wonder what he ended up doing...
