I think my biggest pet peeve is unnecessary macro messages in /party chat. I very rarely add /party messages in my macros. {Protectra} + {Shellra} {Gather together.} is my only one on White Mage except MP macro. I've started Corsair recently and have /party messages for all of my rolls as well as Double-Up, but this is because I'm in the low levels and Corsair is a new job; people don't understand it. {Ninja Roll} {evasion bonus} for example.

Now let's look at this Ranger I partied with in Korraloka Tunnel...first of all he fought with sword for the first hour of the party, and then when he finally did decide to use ranged attacks he spammed the hell out of his ranged attack macro. I would see "ranged attack Land Worm" three times in three seconds. You can't even shoot that fast and hitting the macro again isn't going to help.

On a different note, I recently got Healer's Roll for Corsair and finally got to experience being a buffer on two fronts; buffs for the melee and buffs for the mages in the back. Our Red Mage did okay with this and would move away from the melee when Healer's Roll would wear off so I could reapply it. The Ninja was an idiot. I even had my macro, "{Healer's Roll} Increased MP recovery" and the Ninja actually came towards me after I did that. And no he was not Japanese (but if anyone knows a good way to auto-translate the second half of the macro that would be helpful).

I also hate it when players run away to fight another mob before I finish with a buff, either because of the long casting time for Bard songs or Double-Up for Corsair. Especially on Corsair because I can't reapply a buff like Bard can, I have to wait until the effect wears off on myself, which will be 5 minutes unless I'm cycling in Healer's Roll as well. There's also the flip side of this, when I start casting a buff as the puller draws closer only to see him stop short and let the Warrior provoke to pull the mob the rest of the way to the party. {Good job!} No buff for you.

Oh well. It's not I care about idiots anyway.

Why the heck would a PLD/DNC not tank? They get Animated Flourish by the level Campaign is viable. Sure, that's not as strong as Provoke, but if there's one thing PLD excels at it's maintaining hate one it's got it. -- Pteryx

          My hnmls, being spoiled of the laziness ToAU brought them. We lost the candy yesterday, so I'm really hoping the JPs don't get it back. Teach these lazy NA's a lesson about remembering where you came from! <_<;
Like, its, "Bard and ToAU area or no merits." With most of them. /sigh. And its coming the most from a PLD/BLM, a PLD&BLM of all ppl, who also just gotten RNG to 75 recently.

People who join event LSes and think the leaders have the power to make other people stay or arrive on time for the event. That or expect me to hold thier hand through the event when the does occure.

People, LS leaders can't prevent Acts of God, power outages, the release of a major game or feature film. They can't stop people from not showing up to Dynamis, HNM camps, Limbus, Salvage or Sky when Super Smash Brothers Brawl came out today. They can't stop floods or storms.

All we can do is plan the event and hope you bother to show up, if people down show, don't give the leaders shit about it.

Additionally, when an event is planned, its typically expected of you to do the research yourself. I've had Sacrarium Swift Belt runs where people show up in cooking aprons and nomad moogle caps and expect us to farm the fomor codexes then and there as opposed to them obtaining them in advance on thier own.

It makes we wonder how some people even got to 75 one time, much less a few more times.

Please excuse the bile here, been doing partial or all pick ups for CoP as my main thing in game at the moment. Really looking forward to hitting chapter 6 when people my friend and I know start needing the same missions.

              1. Multi level 75 mages who can't keep themselves sneaked over short distances, how could you not have this down by now ><

              2. High level DDs who don't understand not to hit the slept mob. Seriously if 4 people are shouting at you to leave the damn mob alone, leave the damn mob alone!

              3. People who can't navigate a prommy without aggroing. The leader for my oh so ill fated first two attemps at 5-2 (first time I've lost dammit) got into Promy Vahzl, waited for everyone to buff up, said "{All Right!} Lets do this!" and he ran straight into a mob. I think my friend and I were the only people in that damn party who didn't aggro at some stage.

              4. The drama of getting CoP done. Long story short, I turned someone down for a run; partly because I've done some CoP with him and he wasn't very good, partly because one of the friends that was helping me knows him and told me not to because my friend knows him and said he's bad. Now I am getting ranty/threatening tells from the guy I turned down.

              5. Time wasters. I try to give a lot of information when I shout and I always say what sort of jobs I am after. I was shouting for a smn for 5-2, and I got a reply. After 5 minutes of him complaining that he wants us to commit to the mission after too because anything less than that is us wasting his time he tells me he wants to come as dancer because he thinks he could do a lot for us on it. I explain that I don't need a dancer becuase I have a whm and a rdm, he calls me rude and then after another 5 minutes tells me he doesn't have smn levelled and actually he's just going to spend his time buying gear for his dancer at the ah because it took him 15 minutes to buy just a weapon. YEAARGH!

              6. People who answer shouts for CoP but don't have any money for items or meds. leechers ><

              7. People who shout for missions without having read them. I tried to help a friend get 2-3, the 'leader' wiped the whole party by running in on the Minotaur while everyone was resting back mp and I was about to start going over the battle plan.

              8. CoP. I love the story, I love the challenge of the fights (when you have decent people with you) what I hate is the hard part of CoP. Getting 6 non-retarded players willing to spend gil on their preperation to agree to and STICK to a time.

On the flip side of this, if people are just showing late because they feel like it, or they just want to take forever gearing up the job they're coming on, JUST because they know they can and there's not a damn thing we can do about it, if you're the leader I do expect you to do/say something about it and possibly subtract points. I left a sky shell because of the lack of leadership, and I was tired of waiting in Kirin room for an hour after {Gather together.} time for tanks who didn't want to bother coming on time to show up.

Only person to say something about it was me, and I had no authority so no one cared, basically they just told me to quit my bitching. When, really, everyone else should have been just as angry that an hour of their time was wasted waiting for people who were online and just taking their time to get there. I realize that RL comes first and if you can't make it you can't make it, but don't merit until 5 minutes before Kirin gather and then hold up the group because you're not on the job we need you as.

And linkshell leaders, don't fucking ALLOW this to go on. Say something to them, subtract points. Or start taking "on time" points so people start being there when we need them. We could have done 3 Kirins that day, but we only managed 1 because of waiting for people.

God, that was like 3 months ago and I'm still pissed about it. Good thing I left that shell huh?

After ToAU came out, the mantra was that ToAU made people lazy. I'm sure that there were some grizzled JP vets who were saying how RoZ made people lazy. And when the next expansion comes out, I'm sure it will be blamed for dumbing down the population of Vana'diel and making them even more lazy.

Let's see, in the level 10-11 dunes party I was just in alone:

WAR/NIN using a sword, with no shield. And not even a nice sword. A Royal Archer's Sword.
WHM/BLM without Cure II, Protectra, or any of the barspells or -na spells.
BLM no sub who tried to tell us all what we were doing wrong (but was in the process wrong himself).
THF/WAR who was using a dagger, and wouldn't take the sword I offered because he liked daggers.

The MNK/WAR and I (BRD/WHM) were the only two worthwhile players. When the MNK had to go, I made up my own excuse as well.

So, examples of many of my pet peeves right there. Also, another pet peeve - I am too adorable for words as a BRD.

I should play my Bard next ... I can't decide what to level! It bugs me! Too many choices!

Okay that's my new peeve: Knowing that I want to (and should) level a purely melee job to 75 next, as I've been stuck in that mage rut for two jobs, (almost 3 since my BLM is close to 50) and not knowing what job I want to level.

I mean really, I've played every job in the game at least for a little while, and I'm doing the Murphie thing right now, too (getting jobs through the Dunes - strange coincidence) so I'm getting some experience on all jobs.

But I can't decide. And it's driving me nuts! Once I decide, I'll then level up the subs I need for it and I'll go on an xping rampage but ... damn it. I can't decide. And that's been my peeve for the past two weeks.
