Like the topic title says I'm thinking of playing again but looking for a large US, well mainly an english speaking guild (doesn't really have to be US based, can be UK, Australia, etc) or at least a server with a TON of english speaking players and what their prime-time is.
Why may you ask, well when I've played before, while it was for a short time I did have some bad experiences with Japanese players. Not all mind you but enough. That and it did make it hard to to just group with Japanese players due to the language problem. (still of the opinion that their should be region servers from the start) Now I'm not new to MMORPGs, in fact I've played a LOT of them(just finished playing SWG for a bit, finally started training as a Jedi so I figured I'd put that on hold and do something else) so I took to FFXI pretty easily in terms of gameplay, grouping, leveling, etc. So playing FFXI was never really a problem though I disliked the UI. So if I do come back I'd really like to get to know and join a group of english speaking players right away in order to make friends, to level, do my subjob quest, and at least help with my first advance quest.
This is mainly why I like to join guilds in other games. Friendship and knowing there are people to talk to and to group with. I never had luck with joining a Linkshell when I played FFXI before. In fact, once in a while I'll have really bad luck in a game. I had it in Asheron's Call 2, for a time in Dark Age of Camelot until I joined a good guild, and I had it in FFXI. Luckly that bad luck doesn't come often but it does happen at times.
I know finding similar level characters might be hard but with a large guild it might be easier to find those going back to do other jobs and I would be able to group with them.
So does anyone know of any? Know of any other FFXI forums where I can also ask this?
