  • NM macro question

Well...I just begun camping Hoo Mjuu for the Signa. Sat around for an hour with increasing competition. I'm using the macro "/ja "Charm" Hoo Mjuu the Torrent" so I'm wondering if there's a flaw in using that. Do I have to manually target him or will this macro work? Any input?

The reason I ask is because he spawned like right next to me and I started spamming my macro like crazy right as I saw him appear. It spawned with a yellow name. So I'm just wondering if someone spammed more than me, though the person who got it says they just attack it, so I don't think they were spamming, which leads me to believe my macro doesn't work. I tested it on a Yagudo Piper to make sure it worked with the name "Yagudo Piper" instead of the NM. I need to test some more because I'm not sure if I already had the piper targeted.

If my macro doesn't work, what's a good macro then? Something like this?

    /target Hoo Mjuu the Torrent
    /ja "Charm" <t>

    ^^Would I need a "/wait 1" in that macro?

Any input would be great, thanks!

If that macro worked NM camping would be much easier.

You can type there specific name, you would have to use <t> or <st> etc....
If your camping hoo just keep killing yags and spamming /ja Charm <t> or something because that is basically all your going to get. lol

Yeah, you can't target mobs by name (unless you're botting or something).

          Here's what you want:

          /targetnpc
          /ja "Charm" <t>

Spam that... it wont distinguish between regular yags and nm, but it will target the closest mob and try to charm it.

Putting in the name of the mob/NM does not work. As others have said, this would be a good way to camp NM... just get turbo controller, and spam it while AFK or whatever, but it wont work.

You can pull a NM with charm? What's the range compared to provoke?

Range is about the same as Provoke. Less than stun by a little bit and less than Dia by a fair amount.

Very interesting. I'm surprised to say I've never seen any other rivals use this method.

I've heard of people using the charm method to pull HNMs so its not an unheard of method. It's noticeably faster than provoke.
