I found out in ZMs.. Northern most Crag. Al'Teiru is more to the north than Fei'yin. Thinking of the damage the explosion did... makes more sense if it hit North Lands, Qufim, and Ro'Maeve... all border the ocean Al'Teiru existed at, while Fei'yin is more to the left.

    Double Post Edited:
Also, the princes were not found in Fei'Yin. Maat fished them up a short while after Shadow Lord was born.

      actually you're wrong..
it's stated Fei'yin was the place destroyed by the Kuluu and Dawn Maidens..
Al'taieu was "destroyed" but play CoP to understand in what way..
also where did you find this info about the princes?
cause from what I know they were in delk's tower frozen in time.

yeah this is the way I understand the story also.. Promathia Cutscene during chapter 5 is the Best CS in FFXI ^^ for action anyway and a look at what happened in the deep past.

        Its the Pso'jxa Cutscene
        It's Official Promathia Hates me....

Maybe I'm off, but a lot of things conflict each other. Maybe I'll post some screenshots of where I got this idea, so I can get an explaination ;o.

And that info about the brothers came from Genkei 5. Says something how an honest fisherman with a simple life fished up two people and Jeuno changed forever.

yes, the fishing isn't really literal though..
in missions you learn from the two brothers themselves that they were trapped in time under delks.
As for things conflicting, ya they seem to..
but later you learn in CoP that much of the past is all a lie..
which explains why some things don't make sense

The tunnel that connects to Qufim looks man-made. They had to get over there, somehow.

The tunnel was man made. It was used by the "light army" in the Crystal War to attack the giants on Quifim without sailing onto the island (which had cost them a defeat early in the war).

So maybe the "dukes" just tried to swim for it ;3

Fei'Yin was never an ark. It was a Zilart (or maybe Kuluu) location, sure, but it was destroyed (for effective purposes, even if it's still mostly structurally sound) by the spatial displacement of Al'Taieu. As were Ro'Maeve and Pso'Xja. You learn this from an NPC Quasilumin in Hu'Xzoi.

I imagine the Crag of Vahzl (or whatever) was either outright obliterated at the time, or was so effectively knocked apart that 10,000 years of snow blowing around and gigas building Zvahl resulted in it being either buried in the snow, eroded away, or hacked up for materials. So there's really no sign of it now. But the Vahzl mothercrystal is quite obviously nowhere near Fei'Yin, and there's *also* no sign of a crag there while the area *is* cursed with all that cold weather like they said happened in the area of the mothercrystal that had its crag destroyed. So it stands to reason it was the Vahzl mothercrystal and there's simply no remains of the crag.

And obviously the structure that houses the Al'Taieu mothercrystal is quite intact - even if it is displaced off into a different dimension or something - because we can run around in it just fine.

Maat is the one who found Eald'narche and Kam'lanaut. He tells you this after you beat him I believe in G5.

That said, it was the events of 30 years ago that caused their awakening. When the Magicite in the northlands transformed Raogrim's grieving soul into the Shadowlord.

There's one thing I don't get though. When you beat the Snoll Tzar, I think it's Prishe who mentions that the Dark Entity inside that magicite that was gathering the beastmen wasn't Promathia. So then, who was it?

And where are the protocrystals of Light and Dark!? They have to exist, we're missing two celestial avatars and we know that it was they who created balance in the world. I'm still not sure what exactly those crystals are though, or why they exist. They're not a part of the great meltdown are they?

Finally, as for Al'Teiu, it was nearly destroyed by Bahamut, but he used up nearly all of his power in the attack. The Zilart managed to activate their Celestial Defense Grid (or w/e they call it) just in time to save the city, but the people still perished. Not sure how they all became Quasilumin though.

                              It's too bad, I love how Al'teiu looks in that CS in Chapter 5. It'd be so awsome if they could come back to Vana'diel and restore the city, with a ferry running to it from Jeuno. But it's my understanding that that won't happen ; ;
