Put an end to online gil-sellers! Sign the petition!

A petition has been created to request that Square-Enix Inc. adopt a policy to suspend the accounts of those who would buy and sell gil for real money. The petition may be viewed and signed at http://www.petitiononline.com/ffxigil/petition.html.

Please note that this thread is not intended to rehash the debate on the legitimacy of selling gil. It is only to make the players of FFXI aware of the petition. Thank you.

Why don't you stop and think about the consequences. Do you think people in China, Russia or whever the hell they are do this cause they want to piss off players. They are making a living for their familes, some of those regions are poor as hell and this a money to feed their familes. Yeah lets shut them down so you can go farm in Zitah and they starve (extreme example but nonetheless applicable). Its a phucking game, get over it.

Gimme a break. They'll just find something else to ruin. At least it's a step towards getting 'em off FFXI. Besides, if they didn't want to piss off players, then they shouldn't be doing this in the first place.

um, that list was fake buddy. As for this petition? Useless... GMs already say "We are looking into the issue" lol, yeah right, more like the executives at SE told them to not tell anyone about the secret agreements with IGE (yeah yeah, its speculation)

That's seriously the most idiotic excuse I've heard yet in favor or gil selling/buying.

Nobody is gonna lose a life if online gil transactions stop. Think about it. Where were these people BEFORE virtual property transactions started? You think they waited to do this? Virtual property as a commodity is relatively new. Still probably in it's infancy in fact. Nobody is going to suffer if gil stops being sold. Who is going to suffer are people like you who sell their accounts. Great, now what are you going to do for money... Oh wait, I know. GET A JOB!

If you want to continue lookin at the extreme side of things, then maybe stopping the gil selling is a tremendous benefit to them. They may actually find legitimate jobs, earn some good money, learn some actual job skills that they wouldn't have before. Just as good, maybe it'll stop some of the "sweat shops" that young people are working in. We all know what kind horrible conditions a person must endure in sweat shops. We'd be saving them.

Going by your view, we should ignore those people that produce cocaine for sale in NA which results in countless deaths... Why? Because they have a family to support. Yeah, I know, an extreme example, but if everyone's going to pull an extreme example out of something like this, then I might as well fight back with extreme examples.

I always look at issues on both sides I am not narrow minded on issues. I played till level 72 and had no problems whatsoever getting cash, and no I never bought it. I was a white mage and a bard both non farming classes yet I had no problems making gil. So I do not see why people have their panties in a bunch. If your farming for cash dude you seriously do not know how to make money.
