I know theres some people here that have killed it. Any one have any info as to what kind of party setup you need? We plan to hunt it but want to be prepared.

I just fought him yesterday as a matter of fact. :sweat: He was Very Very Very Tough. He does a 14 hit weapon skill that devistated both our Dragoons 2 times each. (level 70+) I think it would be excellent to have a Ninja with very high evasion and, of course, Utsuemi. Our PT setup was (If I remember correctly): WHM, WHM, BRD, BLM, NIN, NIN, PLD, DRG, DRG, RDM, DRK, THF. ((I know I'm missing some people >.<)) So, in all it took about 12 people. ((All Level 70+)) Be carful and dont get lost in Sea Serpent Grotto! :dead:

His drop rate sucks. T_T. Hes the one that drops Joyuse right? My LS can kill him im sure 16 71+ now well balanced out, but we havent really had the time (people want to hit 75). But we do have a BST in the LS who was once a member of the top LS on my server who said the drop rate was very poor, around 20%.

Umm... I have the joyeuse and my hnmls killed it 5 days in a row and got 100% drop everytime plus the occasional Oxblood. Maybe it was because of the Theif Knife, I don't know but it seems like its 100% drop.

As for party setup, ninjas can tank it or if a L74 job uses ninja sub (Utsusemi: Ni). Just make sure you have with you 2-3 redmages, 2-3 whitemages, 1-2 blackmage and 1-2 bards would help. As for melee, pld can help tank it while having thf,drk,rng,mnk or war do the dmg.

Its a bit challenging but not too hard if everyone is around 73-75. Theres no special strategy to it, just keep the hate on the tanks and have the mages keep Barwatera on the melees.

I almost killed it with 4 people. 75 nin, brd, rdm 69 whm. Haste and either both mambos or both marches is enough. It takes awhile, and hate control is important. The only reason we ended up not killing it is because that night was the scheduled server maintenance for my server, and with 10 minutes left, Chardybis still had 15-20% life. So, we escaped out and logged off

we won :D. We just finished it off and man it was a hard fight. Ninja got totally owned this thing attacks way too fast. I had to tank it with earth staff and all that. I had to run around one of those piles of Lewt while we slowly killed it. It dropped Joyeuse and Oxblood. Joyeuse went to Red Mage Rumult. *needs* ; ;

Is not 100%, my LS has killed it many times and not all of them dropped the sword.

Oh that's weird then, my old LS told me it was 100% drop. I've never fought him, just what i hear is what i know.

There wasn't any close to death moments. I believe Joyeuse is 100% drop. There's no proof but if it drops 5 days in a row, its gotta be 100% or close.

explain how NIN goes about tanking this. Our NIN got raped so hard ; ;
