Hmm.

Anyone know if having low ninjutsu can possibly make less shadows?

Or possibly, does anyone feel that having low ninjutsu or INT now effects different ninjutsu spells perhaps? (Shorter tonko time, less utsusemi shadows etc)

I noticed that your ninja sub is level 13 (unless you've updated), Tidane. Mine is currently 30 with capped ninjutsu and as a sub to my warrior I always get 3 shadows.

Well I played some NIN last night and my Utsusemi: Ichi gave me 3 shadows. So this definately isnt true and I do believe my server has undergone the maintainence.

um... played some NIN as a MAIN or as a SUB.... theres a big difference between the two...

I haven't asked anyone post-patch about it but:

Before this patch, Utsusemi: Ichi was ALWAYS 3 images, as a NIN or /NIN

Utsusemi: Ni was 4 images for NIN, and 3 images for /NIN

I haven't partied with a /NIN since this recent patch, but our NIN tank didn't notice or say anything so I assume main job Ninja is unchanged.

I actually just played this out the past couple of days. I levelled NIN main from L12-20 and Utsusemi: Ichi's shadows absorbed damaged three times per cast.

Then, I levelled WAR/NIN from L24-26 just outside of Kahzam. Using Utsusemi: Ichi, I blocked three hits from a mandragora. Being that Mandras hit 2x everytime, I lose Utsusemi on the 2nd wave of attacks, on the fourth hit.

So thus, I have concluded that Utsusemi still hasnt been changed.

Asmandeus, I've had 3 shadows even with a ninjitsu skill of 2. It's most certainly not based on ninjitsu skill. This I can state for a fact.

Ni always had 1 less shadow when /nin subbed but Ichi was always 3 shadows main or subbed.

Anyone that says different is talking rubbish.


Whether that's changed in the coming maintenance is another matter entirely.

People from servers who have had maintenance reported that there is NO CHANGE to Utsusemi.

I made a post in the warrior section to see if anyone tested it, and it has been confirmed that this is a HOAX post.
