The City in Opening movie

The place in the intro I think is jeuno. Jeuno was built on the ruins of a city and its where all the kingdoms gathered (just like you said). The only other area I think looked similar was in ghelsba outpost (i think thats how u spell it) but without all the orc contraptions. There's a lot of hills there too. It just seems like the sort of place you'd see it but I've seen no ruined bridges yet ^^ Also there was a cave and theres lots of caves there.

Anyway, there's my 2 gil.

You'll have to forgive me if the story line backs up your claim and I just haven't gotten there yet, but if you talk to some of the NPCs (Lower Jeuno) they mention that the bridges were built by people too long ago to remember who built them. The war against the Shadow Lord certainly didn't occur that long ago. At least, the framework for Jueno has been there for a long time.
I figure it's probably just something that will be added in one of the next major updates. Just add a new continent, like the Rise of Zilart did.

Well, since I'm pretty sure that kid in the opening movie is Aldo, and he is the leader of tenshoudo, which is Tavnasian people, I think that mostly was a city of tavnasia or something.

Unless I'm wrong and that little kid wasnt aldo. Whatever, it's 3 am and im crunk.

They werent cheering or mad at each other. After they blasted the orcs with a ice spell and the camera cut back to the tarus they said: "BEHEMOTH!" all at once. Because directly right after that scene a behemoth comes storming through the orc ranks and bashes through a wall of the city. If you listen to it, they are saying " Behemoth!"

Marquisate of Tavnazia it was a city? It says nothn for its history. It couldnt of been Marquisate of Tavnazia. After the movie it shows it green again.

ok, if memory serves, when it shifts to when the city was destroyed and Aldo is grown and with a lot of allies behind him it says "20 Years Later." And since FFXI takes place 20 years after the Great War (which probably wasn't so great) the city couldn't be Jeuno or any other existing city even if geography is disregarded.

Hitoshi, i don't think Abriael meant it like one of the outposts in the regions. I think he (or she) was refering to outpost in the literal sense, instead refering to the city as an outlying town such as a colony.

And i agree with all the people that say that the tarus were saying "Behemoth" which, for the non lvl +65 full alliance people, means "Sh*t RUN!!" This theory would make sense because the Behemoths were coming when they said it.

Claidie the Princess of Sandoria was talking about Tavnasia being destroyed 20 years ago when I talked to her during the 7-2 mission. Everything started making sense after that, I believe the intro city is definitely Tavnasia, and that kid was definitely Aldo. Aldo lost his older sister so he protects his younger sister Verena with all his heart. It makes sense if the Tenshodo and Norg were created by 2 surviving Tavnasians... If you take into account everyone's run ins with NPCs that talk about it, it really shouldn't be that hard to believe heh.

The entire thread is one huge debate about the intro movie possibly being Tavnasia and you get upset that I mention Claidie talks about Tavnasia being destroyed 20 years ago in Sandoria 7-2? Oh nos, my apologies.

The part about Aldo comes from talking with him in Jeuno. Also not very suprising that Aldo lost his sister if you know he's the little boy in the intro. She clearly gets womped by that Orc.

My apologies though if this little tidbit of information ruins anyones gaming experience, maybe I should have posted a warning, it didn't seem necessary.

Wasn't just talking about you... people were revealing what NPC's talk about later in the game.. mission info ,etc ,etc

all im saying is it would be cool if people gave a little spoiler warning.. personally i dont like to spoil anything about the storyline.. i love to watch it unfold before my eyes.
