Question about Gobs & Bomb Toss

Just Throwing my 2 cents in.

Me and my buddy were messing around and we think that throwing a provoke when the gob is preparing bomb toss will "encourage" him to drop it.

We've experimented with it , and I'm pretty confident it works. Its even saved us from a FAR too powerful gob attacking us.

Through all the levels it seems to be random... tried to provoke thing, didnt work in Altepa. Usually just good to have someone to stun (ie flat blade, tachi: hobaku etc.). As the only sam last night I was pure stun and only let 3 bombs off all night (one died unfortunately.. but the freak bomb hit the group for 237 ; ; )

any goblin has the Bomb Toss ability.

i really don't think it becomes a very devastating attack until you fight goblins in level 15+ areas though, but that's just me.

this'll work about 75% of the time but I havn't done it in a while. WHen the gob starts droppin the bomb, mages get far back, melee, get as close as you can to him, this'll cause it have more chance to drop it on himself.

suicide bomb toss is random.

BUT mage type gobus will drop the bomb more often than melee gobus with high defense.
also an other easy way is to use sleep or sleepII spell when hes charging up.

mages if youhave access to stone skin and sleep is recycling . raise it and all whm need to have bar fira to lower the damge.

also on fire days bomb toss will do more damage and gobus will be less likely to do suicide toss.

I spent a while figuring this out, it seems it doesn't work 100% of the time, so there is some random roll involved.

Basically, all that is required is that the goblin turn 180 degree's. The best way we found to do this was to have a second provoker waiting for him to ready bomb toss. in this way we were able to do 200 exp goblins in valkrum without a very strong party at around lvl 15-16.

Umm, doubt this works, I have seen the goblin pull Harlem Globetrotter and throw that bomb behind him to hit the rest of the party. Also, when he drops the bomb, the amount of damage it does is based on his hp. So if he drops that thing near the beggining of the fight, expect some big damage.

If the person the bomb is aimed at runs one way and the other frontliners run the other, only the person with the hate will get hurt by bomb toss. Just make sure the tank doesn't run in the direction of the Mages.

I've heard plenty of rumours of stopping bomb toss, one being to run away then start running back just as he is about to release it. I don't think any of them work and it's just based on some kind of random roll. The Stun WS, Weapon/Shield Bash, Sleep and Lullaby all can definitly stop it though. In the days where Yuhtunga was a good leveling spot I got pretty good at stopping the bombs with Lullaby but you can't take a moment to think about it or it's to late.

statistically, it's dropped the bomb more when the melee bum rush it in my testings...but that's jus me

Things that have worked for me in my experience with gobs:

-Shield bash / Wep bash
-"Stun" Blm/Drk spell
-weapon skills with stunning attributes (flat blade, tackle)
-charging the gobs LEFT arm when he is about to throw the bomb (melees crowd him basically)
-Bar fire

Monk's Shoulder Tackle also is a Stun skill and will always stop Bomb Toss.

But I notice the increase frequency when I was in Lower Def Tower. Gob will use Bomb Toss like a few seconds later. I don't think there are anyway to make them drop. It all seems too random.
