I hope people DO realize that there isn't going to be an establish economy for powerlevel efficiency.

Even the best knowledge and micro management is going to be stunted if you can't get any armor for the next 5 levels.

The auction house is not going to be as good as it should, unless one uses their own time and money to level up thier own craft skills. Either way this will slow down the leveling process.

Fame will be a problem at first because people dying left and right is going to give beastmen rule for most of the land. Again there will be lack of equipment. Outposts and save points(doh!)

And since CP is calculated every WEEK! You're going to waste a lot of time traveling if you're a L33T froniteer.

Spells is going to be harder because it will be isolated in their countries for a while. Paralyze if I remember right is a level 4 WM spell. Great first cast spell for a long time for whitemages, but you're going to be hard to find it unless it's Windy.

Whats the benifit of power leveing to the top as fast as you can? Does this game have a lot of high level content like EQ?

Honestly, there is no reason to Power through the game anyway. It doesnt have huge amounts of high end content like EQ/DAOC/AO etc, and most the ther stuff is SUPER hard, so your gonna be waiting months for people to catch up anyway.

Have you looked at the XP charts at all? Have you seen that lvls 1-50 you only need 300 more xp then the level before to level? And you know that the most xp youll get from a monster in a party is maybe 100-150 if you ar fighting seriously tough monsters? ANd those numbers never go up, you get the same xp from monsters you fight at lvl 1 as you do at lvl 50.

Then, looking at that, do you see what happens once you hit 50? The xp per level starts to go up to about an extra 1k xp per level. You can do 1-50 as fast as you want, your just gonna get hella burned out after that. And whats the point? You arent going to be uber, you will be able to do less by yourself then, compared to when your level one. FFXI is more Team oriented in PvE than ANY other game released so far.

No one is trying to crucify you if you want to be a powergamer, but the people who HAVE played are trying to tell you to take your time and have fun with others, since thats what the game is about. Honestly, your only gonna kill the game for yourself if you try to power through it, and youll be one of the first people bitching about " High End Content" when youve passed everyone up.

Well, maybe then you'll realize the game was designed for PS2, it and it wont have the high end game like other PC MMORPGS. It was designed for casual players, and will never cater to high end power gamers, because square KNOWS that wont be their big player base

SWG made that very same mistake. They said oh lets only cater to casual gamers because powergamers will not play this game.

Now 80% of the games population is maxed out and has nothing to do because SOE did not plan for there to be so many power gamers.

There is no such thing as a casual gamer, if Square does not reconize it thier game is doomed from the start.

I hope Square does not have the same outlook on this as you.
