I'd say choose for yourself. I hope no one's planning another equivalent linkshell. The one center for all importers was a wonderful thing to start off with, but now it's time to move on. Having a central base was one of the main things that prevented the growth of newer Linkshells. People didn't want to leave the nest.

I know that many of you were planning to start your clans before you even got the game. Now's the time for you to follow through with your original plans. If you absolutely need help, there's still the board...

But really, many new players are getting spoiled. It only started to get noticeable after that one M10 alliance, many of us (yes, I'm part of the guilty party here as well) got a free ride that we didn't deserve. Now people are arranging M10's and the level range has gone from the recommended 35-40 to 25 and up. We've grown to neglect the fact that the people helping us have gotten through it on their own, and are in no way obligated to help us, except through they're on helpfulness. The leaders were kind enough to offer a hand, but many of us have been abusing it. It's time to back off and figure things out for ourselves, and finally give them a chance to enjoy themselves as well.

If you have urgent need for translations (which is one of the primary cries for help), just keep in touch with someone you know who knows Japanese. If someone gave me a /tell asking for a JP translation, I'd be more than happy to help if I'm able. We do not need a single symbol that marks up or down the reputation every importer on the server anymore. Go out and mingle, everyone, and have a blast doing it.

What about the new guys, the ones that got the game this week or after March 15th. They are going to be lost. Thats what was the great thing about NG, it had the nOObs as well as the veterans all missed together. And most of the LS's out there arnt willing to allow noobs to join. So my point, it wouldnt be so bad if someone made an equivalent.

anyways, i noticed that a lot of you are part of clans or whatever you want to call them. why dont you start your linkshells now? if your leader doesnt have the game than he can suck a... erm... nevermind. point being, if youre playing and your leader isn't, youre more important than him. so go start your clan linkshells! I never quite understood that 'im in the [xyz] linkshell but it doesnt exist so im in NeoGundan'...

as for the new players, if theyre that lost they can join one of several importer linkshells. or maybe they shouldnt have imported if that isn't good enough.

Started a new linkshell last night.

Name: Emerald
Color of pearl: Medium Green (real surprise with the name eh?)
Language: English

Only rules:

1. Be polite and honest to everyone inside and outside the shell, be they US importer, japanese, chinese, russian, french, spanish, or whatever.

2. English language only on the linkshell since we have some members who can not understand anything else. Obviously translation requests are an exception. I can read/write two languages myself but we're keeping the linkshell in one standard format so everyone can participate equally.

3. Have fun! This is a game afterall!

Right now it's just a group of 10 mostly low level US importers (lvl 12/Rank 2 in San d'Oria) with several people who can translate moderately well. The rest have built up a lot of links and pages to translations to help us play. We're constantly learning as we play or find new information... and eagerly share it with one another.

This link shell is open to anyone who can speak english, importer or otherwise who will follow the rules.

We would gladly take in starting players and help them get going with the basics.
