For me, I registered Dec. 9th, 2002.
the 9th was my opening payment date. it has since shifted to the 16/17th of every month.

On the morning of every 16/17th of the month, I check my bank statement to ensure the payment was successful. If it wasn't, and the day is the valid day for payment, I call Bank of America to check for any Verified charge requests from "Checkcard XXXX Playonline Minatoku" for 2 charges, one for the primary (14-15 USD), and one for the yen conversion shift (0.1-0.5 USD). If payment was unsuccessful for any reason, and funds are available, I have BoA recur the transaction. If funds are not available, I make them available within 24 hours and have BoA recur the transaction (has happened once in August 2003).

So the only way to make this not has is too change the CC info BEFORE it tried to withdral money from a bad CC? And also to have enough money in the back? I use a debit charge so it pulls money from the bank... or something like that <_< it's not mine it's my sis's >.>; not sure exactly how it works... need to find out.... I am NOT losing Siya...

It's hardly fair to say *****y support for JP accounts when they are only supposed to be valid for Japan - it's pretty easy to fix this problem if you actually live in Japan and can receive postal mail. Maybe they should give more notice about your credit card failing, but unfortunately the Japanese credit card system doesn't support that, so it's out of their hands.

We tried to help Seymour and co. out with their accounts last year, but it was impossible. Look at Seymour now... he's kicking ass and back stronger than ever. It's not worth crying over - just imagine you live a life like me where it's hard to even play FFXI. Be thankful for what you've got

2 questions. Why is the payment for 5 May "purged"? and did you get any email to your POL account about why you might be suspended?

You'll have to type it: "yokohamashi asahiku ue kawa ino (and delete the no) machi" to get it easily, as most IMEs do not understand kamikawaichou

Sure. But is it really worth a trip to Japan to save your account? Unless you know people over here you can visit and stuff

Anyhow, i'ma go ahead and switch it to a check card and have it draw directly from my bank account. As kingkong put it, "if that ran out of money then really I'd be in trouble" :p

btw black tell me when you get ur new account running, I'll hook you up w/ new RL and Req pearls

OK, let me try to clear this up, since it seems I am the only person here who survived the entire process of having an account suspended and then reviving it.

1. Change/Update your credit card info as soon as you are issued a new card. Almost all credit card companies send you your new card at least a month before it expires. You can modify your billing info on POL anytime except for when your account is already frozen. At which point, there is absolutely nothing that can be done over the telephone or even physically going into Square's office. I offered to do both and they said the system is locked-in once an account is suspended and no one can override it, including the customer service manager. You will have to wait for the bill from Sony Financial to arrive and pay that bill at a bank, post office, or convenience store in Japan.

2. Changing your address will not help unless it is a valid address in Japan where the bill can be sent to and that person will pay the bill for you.

3. So bascically, as long as you keep your credit card up to date and POL is getting paid, your account should be OK. You have to know exactly when your CC expires and when to change it, and do it well ahead of time because POL won't tell you your account is in trouble until a month or more after when its too late. You will not be able to retro-charge the delinquent month(s) even if you give Square a new CC number - that month or months can only be paid via the Sony Financial bill by cash.

4. I believe there is a "grace period" of payment, for example, I know for sure that my card was not billable for at least 1-2 months (this was after the 1st time I got suspended in 2002), but I didn't get suspended again. So that means, this is just theory, POL will tolerate a month or even a few months of late payment on the same credit card, and as long as your credit card is restored within that "grace period", then they will charge it and its ok. But if you change your credit card number after you missed payment on an old card, they wiil not be able to bill the missing months to the new credit card.

Yeah, that's fine, especially if that's how it's stated by the postal service site Kanagawa-ken is the region Yokohama is in so that's no problem. I just didn't realise it's -ku before -shi in that area.

OK so lemme get this straight...(I dont have a credit card...bare with me here) Once my dad's card expires and gets a new one, all I have to do is update the billing info and the new number for the card, etc and I'm good? I am NOT losing Xyphere...btw with this is true, does anyone know which menu I go to, to change this?

I dont think it really has to be a BAD CC ..just when it expires.

So, really the solution to this ..err JP problem is to switch out old CC before it expires and get a new one. You must also update your CC number when you get a new one, some may have the same number the only thing that may be different is the expiration date. Correct? (Update everything through POL)
