Thoughts:

Promathia and motivation: just general annoyance toward humanity at large on this one. You'd think people would want to play a Final Fantasy game for the story ... I see this as a Final Fantasy game first, an online game second. But I guess I have to realize that for many players, the story is of little or no concern. Oh well, I guess I will just have to knuckle down and actually organize something myself if I really care that much. /dread

Tu'Lia: I went there for the story and because I wanted to see the beautiful place for myself. You could've probably already guessed that. I have admittedly taken advantage of it for skillups and exp (and will presumably in the near-ish future fight gods there too), but my original reason for wanting to go there was just because it was part of the story and also a beautiful place. I guess I'm unusual in that regard.

Stylish outfits: That Igqira Weskit in the latest pictures is much more flattering than Assault Jerkin. Oh, and about the wild-cool anime guy sort of thing you mentioned several posts back ... hair and glasses work great for it, but mittens kinda throw it off. Unless you're the wild-cool anime guy who then, after all the coolness, puts on mittens while everyone else facevaults.

Hecatomb picture: that's the famous blond elvaan I think it is, isn't it?

Tarus: extremely hilarious, as always. I can't wait to see those scenes for myself. You said something about dancing? I think I'd literally fall off my chair laughing. The dialogue alone is hilarious, but actually seeing them dance while they say it?

Birthdays: what else is there to say but, happy birthday. The only question is whether you want to share your exact age with your readers. Though I'd put you in your 20's somewhere for the recent university attendance.

How the hell could those Taru be related to the Great Summoner? It boggles the mind... I wonder if that means they have some sort of hidden magical ability.

Anyway the script project is coming along, the first draft has been accepted on GameFAQs.com if you want to check it out. And I've been swarmed by other websites asking to post it on their websites. Sheesh, it's not like I actually had to do any work other then typing.

Im honestly not sure which type of shots i like better, the HNM ones, or the missions, heh, thats whats great about this thread ye done have to chose one. There are times i wish i had gone Windy, but im never in Windy, so i miss out on the famed for the in depth story/mission line, for the San D ones @.@ (They arnt bad, just leaves me curious )

Quick question though, are they the two missing musketeers the ones that ye see in Beadeux (In the cutscenes) during Rank 5? i could be completely wrong, and most likely am, but that was the most interesting part, so its hard for me to forget

Though I think it was a bit inconsiderate of Sierra12 to post that little spoiler; now people that try to skip over the dialogue to avoid spoilers may well see it. :/ And to Samar, yes, they were Cornelia and Raogrimm from the Rank 5 cutscenes in Beadeaux and Davoi.

Ah, I wish I could get to more story stuff. I'm still leveling my NIN, and while it's been very easy to find PTs, it's been proving difficult to find any competant ones. >_< Last night I was in a PT that was taking like 5 minutes to kill one Yhoator Mandragora. It was sad. I can't wait to get NIN to 30 so I can just go back to THF for a long time. The 50s should be interesting... genkai quests, AF quests, missions 5-1 and beyond... I can't wait.

Promathia and Motivation & Tulia: You cannot be annoyed at someone just because they do not want to do something or for their lack of interest. Yes, the FF series has always had a deep, rich storyline. Yes, there are FF lovers around this world. FFXI was S-E's first hit at an MMORPG with the FF title. So it is a given you will attract "fanboys & fangirls" of the series, but because it is a game that is available to other types of people (MMORPG lovers, general people who like to try video games, people who try it because word of mouth), that does not make them necessarily interested in the story. As you said, the story is little or of no concern to most players. Take my roommates for instance. They have never ever touched an FF game. They are rank 5 and have no plans of taking it further. They have no plans of doing any missions or quests unless it provides them with some type of material gain (which is the driving force for MANY people to get sky pass). My roommate told me today during lunch: "I need to get Sky pass so I can fight the Gods." That is his only concern, he doesn't give a crap about the story. You are not unusual, you are a fan of the series. That is what makes you different. I too, am a fan of the series, but I also have goals too. As for gathering people for Promathia, I have to resort to shouts. There are those in my LS who stopped after Promyvion. There are those who are on Chapter 7! Each person has different interests, it is just important that you find others who are wanting to accomplish the same thing as you in order to get them done.

Stylish Outfits: I didn't say that the Assault Jerkin was awesome looking, but it is an outfit nevertheless to add to my collection. As for the mittens, yes I know... I normally wear the AF gloves for looks.

Hecatomb Pictures: Yes sir, that is my LS mate that most of the NAs talk about.

Tarus: Very funny and yes, they dance (when announcing to the latest minister that they are his children). I was rolling and the dialogue was a nice touch. Kudos to the translators of this game.

Birthdays: Thanks. I think it is just the attention you get that people enjoy when it is your birthday. As for my age, I am 24 years old. I just noticed that on the front of FFXI, it lists people's birthdays and age in parenthesis.

To Sierra12: Yeah! That surprised me too! I expected them to be really powerful, but... from the looks of them right now, I just laugh. I'm curious on who their mother is too. Must wait and see!

To CRtwenty: Haha, I was wondering the same thing about their powers! As for the script, nice work! I skimmed through most of it (I'm in a rush to get home) and its very nice. You should be complimented on not only typing it, but putting it together. So quit being so modest! :spin:

To Samar: Thanky thanky! I'm going to test out my Jerkin today on some Liches in Eldieme (helping someone with their Papyrus). Yeah, I know I have tons of readers, so I try to please them all. Thank you Marvul for speaking up. It is the readers that help this thread progress onward! As for Missions, you could always do them all up to rank 10. ( Vilurum is almost there )

To kyle5547: White Mage subjob. I'll never ever subjob anything else but White Mage on my RDM. I absolutely hate being BLM sub. It is just my opinion and you Red Mages are free to choose whatever you wish. I have tons of RDM/BLM friends, but I find the use of WHM spells much better. I have only used BLM as a subjob when I was soloing in Temple of Uggalepih for my Coffer Key for SMN AF (for Aspir/Drain).


/WHM is good. It's all about your preference and what you feel will make you do the job better. I like /BLM a lot and it has its uses. When I started out I used /WHM then switched to /BLM in my mid 50's. Both are really good subs, although I need to get my WHM to 37 ><

Byakko the tiger drops a great axe. It's level 74 WAR and DRK, 94 damage, 504 delay, wind resistance +10, attack +5, enhances "Beast Killer" effect, and has an additional effect of wind damage.

That much I can tell you from research ... a picture of someone who actually has one, that's another matter entirely.

I wanted to ask what level your RDM was when you soloed for yoru Assualt, I couldn't remember if you got it to 75 or not.
