  • A technical issue I'm having (HELP)

I've been playing FF11 for about two months now and everything seemed fine.

Now however I recieved a error message, I tried reinstalling Playonline to see if that would clean it up and it has not. On a side note I have forgotten my ID if it still matters.

    When it comes to the...

    -Start Playonline Registration
    -For Playonline Members

I cannot use the members because I don't have an ID or have forgotten it atm. When I click the Registration it brings me straight to this message. P.S. This is the same message I got when attempting to log in before I reinstalled.

    Error Code: POL-0033

Connection refused by server. Some servers may be out of service or congested. Please check your connection enviroment if nothing improves even after trying again later.

My net connections still work fine because I can access my other net services perfectly. My friend's inform me they have no trouble getting on themselves so I doubt it's the servers.

    What should I do?

How are you connected, are you behind a router, and if so, what's the make/model number?

yeah, you are going to need your polId if you reinstall Playonline. You have to use "For Playonline Members" because you don't have registration codes to register (or rather, you used yours already).

as for the error, it could still be your network (as in your provider and their connection to POL). why did you decide to uninstall/re-install when you could have simply waited to try at a different time?

      Thanks Yyg!

Well I waited 3 days and checked for any server issues.

Sorry man missed your last post.

            It's a Wireless-G Broadband Router.

            24GHz 54 MPPS.

About 3 years old or so.

Tis ok, but this is most likly your problem, try running it connected directly to the computer.

But, that still dosn't help me in figuring out your problem. I need the make/model

                EX: Cisco/Linksys/NetGear
                and the model.

                  54 MPPS.
interesting, wouldn't your MPPS depend entirely on what type of file the image is?

Renlu, did you try what InuTrunks suggested?

                          On an aside,

I myself have had 2 routers die on me in just a scant 6 mos. Call it unlucky or just some weird electrical problem in my condo, first was a netgear and second a linksys/cisco. I also had 2 other routers before and they also died in under 2 mos. of usage.

If someone has an advice for a very durable and reliable router for the home environment, I'm all ears.

Aeni, Linksys/Cisco have always been amazing for me, one's lasted 5 years, and the other is still going strong at 1 year. (the 5 year one just got replaced because it locked me out of FFXI for no reason). Are you running a surge protector/suppressor? What about a line filter?

It sounds to me like your power is spiking too much in your house, I'd have it checked for power inconsistencies.

I live in a condo, but I suppose I could hire an outside electrician to do this for me (check to make sure everything is running okay) but I did have a building inspector check the place out before purchasing it about 4 years back.

I use a surge protector and have a line filter on my phone jack way over there > (living room) while the router is way over here < (bed room) and it's like a 50ft tele line connecting the two...

BTW I am switching my ISP out from some nub trash (they weren't always this bad before) that was milking me for crappy service and speeds to one that's 1/4 as cheap and 5 times faster (speaking about DSL service) so hopefully I'll get a new router from them (if they're generous)

Any particular Linksys/Cisco model I should be looking at?
