Since the level cap for that mission is 25, I'd hafta say 25^^.

The first time I did that mission, 2 of our six PT members couldn't go in for various 'tarded reasons that we laugh about now. So there were just 4 of us. I went in as a MNK and used my 2hr ability "Hundred Fists" which dealt a ton of damage, but resulted in me getting all of the hate, as well as being cursed by the ahriman (sp?). The curse dropped my max HP to 100, and lasted over an hour and a half after we beat the dragon. I'm sure it would have lasted longer, but I got tired of waiting and committed suicide.

The other two times I went with a full PT. I used my 2hr again both times, and the match was done in record time.
    Alright.... who farted?

Thats the eco warrior quest. And for eco warrior you need 2 groups, preferably 2 full groups.

i used 2hr 100 fists and dropped the dragon to 1/5 health then got cursed and died

I am scouting out this mission at the moment.

I purchased a map but can't really find where the dragon lives.

I wander around a bit and go behind this big chair (roughly middle right on the map if you head NW from SandOria).nobody is actually in the chair and I go into the region behind through a tunnel. At this point I have to stop as a lvl 19 WHM can't take it on her own in there.

            Is this the correct place?

We had a group of 5 21-25 characters, 2 if us walked out of it. Everyone still passed the mission though.

Well that was the Bastok dragon but same thing...

I did the Bastok mission twice, once with a full group of 23's, and the next with only three 25's - WHM/BLM, WAR/MNK and DRG/WAR. BTW, if you ever do try this with a DRG in the PT, don't let them try to be cool and say "You guys take the eye, I got the dragon!!" and run off. Yes, they can deal ubah damage to the dragon, but they can't tank for sh*t. We all lived (me being the WHM didn't even need Bene) but it got a bit close at one point because of the "tanking" DRG.

Keep everyone on the eye first - have your WAR or PLD provoke the dragon to keep it on him/her, but you have to kill the eye first - use two hours on it if necessary. The dragon isn't hard at all if we could do it with 3 people.

I've done this about... a million times now. Usually without any equipment since i don't keep a set of level 20-ish gear around.

The first time we succeeded with this mission we were...

                  20whm/7thf, 22rdm/?mnk, 18war/?, 21thf/?, 23mnk/11whm

pretty funny now that i look back at it ~.^

let's see... the other closest fight i had for it was 4 level 25's, but we were a lot smarter by then, and had more appropriate subjobs.

And i disagree with Deedlit. His strategy may be valid, but i always kill the dragon first. If you try to kill the spotter first, the dragon will constantly "Draw you in" to him and beat the daylights out of you. You can't resist the 'drawing in'. And it'll take your mage and kill them first since the mage will gaining all the hate if you are focusing your attacks on the eye. We always just silence the spotter, kill the dragon, kill the spotter. The spotter can't do a thing to you if he's silenced. The curse comes from the dragon's breath, as does petrify. In the ba-gillion times i've fought this battle, i've never killed the floating eye first. *shrug*

First, it's "she" not "he." Second, you don't get drawn in if you don't attack it. Just have the warrior/paladin/tank provoke it, and leave it alone. Don't have your BLM try to sleep it, nothing.

                      Lol. 4 25's... BLM/MNK/WAR/WHM

BLM put Dragon to sleep. Killed "Searcher" (Giddeus), then killed Dragon. MNK and WAR used 2hrs. Wasn't even a contest.

Having the BLM put the Dragon to sleep isn't necessary, but by far the easiest approach IMO.

2 war lvl 25 and a blm/whm lvl 25. Dragon got pwned. It isn't a very hard fight at all. We didn't even use our 2 hour
