      I am basically finished with textures. There is still some cleaning up to do, fixes, and additions to certain pieces of armor. If you do not like this style, you will have to wait on style #2 or 3 which will be sometime in 1-5 months. Long wait, but its worth it I guess lol. I think I would start on the second heavy armor before I even start on the second style. Anyways, I like the above work I did considering I have always sucked on doing heavy armor both model/texture wise. Thats why I'm making weapons that based off that in the future.

      The skeletal weight.......I will not have time to work on this today or tomorrow. For the rest of the night and tomorrow, I will be cramming my peanut sized brain with information for 4 exams. I cannot put modding anywhere between my schedule until after wednesday. I will try to make some time available after Wednesday or Monday night to start working on the skeletal weight.

      Sure, you may notice small issues with the body at the moment in the above shots, but if I cannot set the skeletal weight, you wouldn't ever see me release it to the public or a tester. So SW > minor issues.

      I will probably hold back from giving it to testers after I do finish though. Probably wait a week or two after before I decide to let someone else try it out.

      Btw, it is not stated on my mainpage yet, but my server maintenance is extended until next Wednesday (Oct 4). After that, on Friday I will start adding whatever mods I see or get from people. The process will be slow is all I will say, but there should be something being added daily.

        K, don't take this the wrong way, just a few suggestions.

        I think it'd look better with some borders around the armour. borders help define the pieces of your armour and also prevent the textures from just looking like they were pasted on.

        Also not so sure about that strip of cloth thing down the front of her groin, kinda looks out of place with the rest of the set

        The bust area also seems abit to squarish, like part of a gundam robot suit

        Work on it more and i'm sure it'll look great in the end

          Ahh, been a rough week. Lets see how I want to say this, its probably going to be a long post *hint hint*.....

          Ok, today was a happy day......well Friday that is ( Dunno why I post so late -.-). Pass csc exam and had one of the top 5 for grades in Geology exam. Made me pretty happy I guess ;P.

          So, since I was in a good mood, I decided to take up my small free break (Fri-Sat) on modding. But mod what?

          Before I get to that. Let me get this out of the way.....

          Ok, Heavy armor #1 now has skeleton weight set...........about 95% done. There are a couple issues with one of the feathers on the boots and there are some other minor issues. After setting the weight, the models for the boots and upper body need some work. Funny thing is, I was able to set the skeleton weight for everything on Wednesday, but I never bothered to go to any ffxi forum to post updated work.

          So where are the HQ renders at? You'll find out later on in the post I guess. For now, let me get on to what I want to say for today....

          So, what did I decide to do for Friday? Well, I decided to work on my heavy armor #2. Whazzaaatt? I thought he said he'd work on it in 2 months or something? Lol, those exam grades put me in a incredibly happy mood and I'm able to work on almost anything that may take a ton of work.

          In case you don't know (Nobody does cause I have never said it anywhere), I draw up all these armor/clothes designs with just pencil and paper first. Then I take that and put it on Photoshop. About 90% of the time, I actually complete the model and/or add things that weren't on the original design. That is why it takes me months sometimes to finish this stuff. That and lazyness .

          This time around, I wanted to do some hardcore texturing instead of focusing on models more on this heavy armor. I also wanted to have dark colors this time around. Heavy armor #1 style #1 is not technically a "dark style."

          Unfortunately, the only thing I could get done is the body.......and that is still not done, but it is worthy to show to the public for now. Wonder why I couldn't get nothing else done? Hmm........status report......kthx....

          Eygptian Armor - Beginning stages
          - Total hours spent so far..........9 hours......eta to a final draft = 3-10 hours if I work nonstop.

          Body Model : 85% complete
          Body textures : 80% complete......note, what you see as a goldish texture, that is set in stone. I am not changing that texture. The same thing goes for the shoulder plates. The rest is unifinished at the moment.

          Meh, I named it Eygptian armor because it has that Eygptian look to it...........well atleast to me lmao. Not officially a name yet though, but I'm going with that for now ;P.

          Ok, I'm sure you're tired of me blabbing. Let me get this out of the way first....

          Ok, what has also delayed me in doing most things as of late is that I had to reinstall Windows XP. Why bring that up? Well, after getting everything back up and running that Wed-Thur, I did something dumb. So today, I load up 3dsmax to find that I didn't back up my vray presets!!!!!!!!!!!!

          Yep, I deleted the old 3dsmax folders x2 since I had 2 OS's on my system at the time.

          So, I got in touch with a vray dev and he showed me what settings to set it to for max quality. After completing a render.....I got to say, the dev was right. I compared my old renders of stuff compared to the ones below and umm....I like the ones below better lol. Those below are like ultra HQ renders lol.

          It takes me about 5-10 mins to do a render now which is why I cannot render those shots of the HA#1 right now. 3-4 shots = 24min-40 min. I'll render them another time though.

          K here here, once again, only the body is somewhat done. I am currently having serious problems with the spikes on the right side (HER RIGHT, not yours), but that will be fixed in the future. Don't care if you complain about it lol. I don't listen to whining ;P.

          Ok, I have two problems. It is very hard to do something like the above due to the fact that I have to factor people's brightness/contrast settings on their monitor. If you have both of those set on max, you probably can't see what she is wearing. One of my monitors is darker than the other (main one) so sometimes its hard for me to create things since the other monitor will show it as a really bright color. But there is one fault....vray will show it as a very very light color if its a front view shot. Therefore, this modelviewer shot is for you.



          I will try to work on the rest of the parts for show Saturday....err today. I will finish the textures and model for the body another time. It is now a lower priority so shush .

          Yes, I did use some stuff from heavy armor #1. I did not feel like making a new underwear model. It takes forever. If one has such a big problem with that, pm me a new underwear model. Besides, when I'm done with the above work, I'll fine tune the undies anyways.

          Tired of feminine armor? What about the full body armor that covers up everything? That is Heavy armor #5 which you will not see for a very long time. I have already designed it on paper, but as of right now, I cannot get things how I want them to be and have failed time after time. Its a little complicated.......

          More information later about things I need to cover and updates to the above work, for now I've said enough. Now you see why I don't try to post so constantly. Give you a week to read what I said lol.

            Ok, I'll cover the things I didn't say in my last post along with some other things.

            Ok, another project update....this time, I'm just going to give you a long list of changes like I do when it comes to programming. Ok, here goes nothing...

            Egyptian Goddess Armor - Final draft #5 (excluding legs) - Total time spent : 19 hours

            Body Model v7.89 (Yes, I have revised this like no other for many years) - ??%
            Modeling
            - Gave her a breast enhancement (As shown in previous post)
            Textures
            - Applied real skin textures to the body (Exprimental, was shown in previous post) instead of using just a gradient for skin.
            - Applied breast textures to the body (Exprimental, shown in prevoius post)
            - Enhanced the outfit itself

            Upper Shoulder plates - 100%
            Textures
            - Changed textures up to be more "Egyptian" like.

            Inner Shoulder plates - 100%
            Textures
            - Applied new textures

            Gloves - 90% done
            Modeling
            - Decreased size of the hands to be more female like (Women don't have huge hands -.0)
            - Applied a fix since the decrease messed up some things

            Since I decided to cut back and not use shadows for my renders anymore, my rendering time decreased by 1-2 mins. If I was using a single core CPU, rendering such things would take more than 20 mins.

            Notes
            - Sorry, wasn't able to do the leg design yet. The reasons behind this is because I ran into a problem. There was one way I wanted to do the leg part and then I had another way, but it requires me to add the shoulder plates to the sides of her body. That and the fact I have no idea how I want it to look like yet caused me not to work on this part yet. It will be done sometime soon or maybe not.

            - Textures for some things aren't fully finished yet. I will not go into further detail.

            - I am planning on only making 2 helms for this set. The one you see above and another one which requires a lot more time out of me. I do not have such time to work that since my time is running out already.

            - As far as the two other styles goes.....the only thing that will be changed is the body outfit. In other words, that gold outfit may be black or red for the next style. If I changed everything, its technically not Egyptian armor anymore. That and the fact that I don't think I can come up with another boots design. I went through like 20 or so drafts just for the boots and I thought I was never going to get it to look good. First design was really bad by the way lol.

            - The other heavy armor set I can actually let some testers try out. As far as shots goes, I'll post those next time I post.

            - I doubt I release this armor set currently anytime soon. In my eyes, its my best work to date and I'm not ready to let the public have it. Eventually, testers will be able to test it out for me in game.

            - Unlike the other heavy armor set, this one I made hella sure that I wouldn't have any doubts of it not looking like its supposed to in game. In other words, high compatiblity mode. This model has almost 0 problems and when you go ingame with it, it looks like it does in the above shots (well it should, not officially tested yet).

            I have attached many things to certain parts of various models that you would think goes elsewhere. For example, the feathers on the boots are attached to the legs. I have a really bad feeling if I change it to where its attached to the boots (like it should be), it will not look right in game. So when I do release this, prepare to be surprised at what I did so it works fine ingame.

            - SL site....I was planning to add mods over the weekend, but this kept me busy. This right here is the reason I have yet to update the site again. As soon as I'm done with the leg part and finalize many things, I will start working on that site again. Besides, I got to update the renders (not the ones you're thinking of) on the site now since the new renders look better than the old ones.

            Oh and by the way, if I ever see the above work on a mithra, EF, or TF, I will shoot myself and whoever else I want . Thats just nasty looking on one of them in my opinion lmao.

            I am not posting again for another week or two on here me.thinks after I've shown the leg parts. I got fall break coming up and some more exams and I doubt I'll be modding this weekend since I'll be at home. Never know, but there is a good chance I won't. Same thing goes for any site I maintain. Its a big "I DON'T CARE" when Fall break comes.

              Hmm, thought I state this before I start to go m.i.a every now and then. After careful thinking, I decided I want to expand heavy armor #2 to include many more things. I just don't want one set for the armor, but different parts for the legs, boots (Note, this doesn't mean I make a new boots design), and additions to things for the body or deletion of some things for the body. In other words, more variety. Hmm, no good way of describing what I mean so...........hmm........ignore until I show something that relates to this. For now, I'll finish the original concept of the design for the armor.

              This is probably what I'll be working on throughout the month and probably the next with a couple of other side projects that can be done rather quickly.

              Hmm lets see......something else I wanted to say. Oh yes, I remember now. As far as mods go for my site, as of late, I have done this. First off, I wanted mods created by JP modders. So I recieved a lot of mods from various JP modders and searched around myself for the rest. I have yet to go to all the individual jp mod sites, but I got the bulk of things for now. It comes to my attention that JP favor these three races the most....

              1. HF
              2. EF
              3. Mithra

              Mithra used to be #2, but as of late, a lot of jp modders have been doing many things for EF. Thus I can go ahead and tell you that I have very few HM, EM, TT, Galka mods at the moment. Just a estimate, but this around, I have over 60+ HF mods by jp modders, but some will be discarded so there is no accurate estimation atm .

              I will say the mods the jp have done are very good to very disturbing lol. There were some rather distrubing things submitted to me and some that I found myself. And animations..........lol.............I found some really good ones and some very disturbing ones. Note that I doubt I'd put a animations section on the site since I will discard most of them by jp users. I'm sure if you've seen the ones I talk about you'd see why I discard them.

              Hmm anyways, still seems to me the jp are the masters of ffxi modding in my eyes lol. I'll overcome them someday I guess...or have I already lol. I do not know when I'll have all the stuff I have currently up on the site as I'm not going to rush things. After I got all the jp mods I want on the site, I will look to see what the English speaking (Well you can't just say NA since not everyone lives in NA) community has as far as good mods go and get a collection of that. Then after that its like a long break. I guess its going to take me a month or so to get all jp mods uploaded, but just a extreme guess at the moment.

              Hmm think thats all I wanted to say. Doubt I work on anything anytime soon btw, but I'm out.

                  ............seems like I like to mod when I have only had 1 hour of sleep. Maybe it was something else......anyways, here is a list of changes first.

                  EG Armor Final Draft #37 (Yes, 37)
                  Changes from old drafts.....

                  Head model
                  - Replaced modified hair by SE that I modified with my own hair textures this time. The hair can be changed to any color while perserving the textures via gradients. Fortunately, my custom made hair textures look really good compared to SE default hair (Ofcourse, my opinion).
                  - Cleaned up some things (Don't need to know really)
                  - Fixed right eye issue

                  Body Model
                  - Redid the outfit. Now it looks a lot better instead of showing a lot of skin and will resemble feminine type heavy armor as the original design is basically clothing.
                  - Added various things to the body model.
                  - Fixed skin texture around breast area (After modifying the skin again, the breast area skin did not match the rest of her body skin)
                  - Modified skin textures
                  - Fixed up undies some, but nothing major. Infact, something is wrong on the right side (her right).
                  - Made textures for the additional things that I added
                  - Set skeletal weight for right side of spikes (Her right)

                  Legs model
                  - I started work on the legs model, but its not completely finished though. Textures used are from heavy armor #1.

                  Todo
                  - Finish adding the additional objects for the boots/body/legs/gloves
                  - Finish the gloves, may take a while to get desired result
                  - Finish the boots, may look finished, but things still need to be done to them
                  - Set skeletal weight for the loincloth. As of right now, it moves with the body, but its solid as a rock. 0 animation. May take some time to do.
                  - Finish textures for many things and expiriment around with the back side of the body (Show more skin in other words). This will take awhile

                  Things that cannot be fixed....
                  When viewing the back side of my HF, the loincloth there will be darker than what it is in the front. I have no solution on how to fix it so its no big deal for me.

                  Shots
                  Figured out why things are super bright in some cases. If I take off a certain option in vray settings, it will display both my shadows and the render will be darker. But a lot of quality is lost (Its noticable) so I could care less about it being bright and having no shadows .

                  Oh yeah, on the back shot, the big white block there is actually her hair lol. I don't take the time to make things that are supposed to transparent, transparent in max. You should already know this if you've seen previous work by me, 100% of all renders don't have transparency where it should have it.

                  Wonder why I don't use altanaview? I used it one time, but I reinstalled XP awhile back and I did not reinstall FFXI. Instead, I just copied my POL folder to one of my other HDs. Altanaview won't work unless its installed. Anyways, 75% of the time, my mods don't even show up right in altanaview for some odd reason lol....well alteast when I used it . Besides, I too used to modelveiwer.

                  Hmm some things to say.........my usual ramblings...

                  The reason why I haven't started on the legs yet is still because I rather get other things done first. That and the fact that I still don't know what I'm going to do texture wise. But I did do part of the model .

                  Miss the old outfit I had? Don't worry for those that liked that. That will be used when I finish the leg parts lol. It will also be used in clothing outfits that I will make in the future. Basically, the reason why I changed it is because of what I drew for this armor design. It wasn't going to be like that in the end anyways. One of the many reasons I don't like showing these types of drafts to the public.

                  It may look finished, but there is still a lot of things I have to add in order for it to look like what I have drawn long ago.

                  Sigh, I wish I could make see through (transparent) things in this game. Thats how I wanted to do the legs because it would look really cool, but unfortunately, can't do that crap b/c of crap graphics engine . I hope you know what I mean by transparent lol.

                  The loincloth skeletal weight.............I basically created necessary points (About 30-40) and set the whole thing to skeleton 3 which is basically used by the body. I will NOT work on this until everything is done so it will act like a rock until then ;P. Both the front and back loincloths use different skeletal weights which is why I didn't bother trying to do any kind of animation. The one in the back would be off. So I have to do about 80-100 points total which is why I'm not bothering with it.

                  I'll make a EM counterpart of the armor above, but only after I am done with things for this set of armor along with weapons. So not anytime soon if you catch my drift...........

                  The other reason why it took me so long just to do the above is because I got gangbanged by my classes in college for the past weeks and I finally get a break starting today for a week. So no exams means I can do whatever I want without any kind of stress. I will mod, but my priorities are 2 websites that I am working on at the moment.....1 I'm putting more priority over the other because that one looks better lol. Oh and I forget....I like to play video games lol so umm, maybe not a whole lot of modding/web work being done during my break.

                  I'm out. I only got about 1 hr of sleep for Thurs night-Friday since I studied for a dumb exam for 15 hours.......and look, its now Saturday morning and I'm still going strong rofl.

                    Hmm....well, wasn't expecting to mod today and sit on my butt and play some games, but after playing around with some other things mod wise, I decided to continue working on this.

                    Hmm, lets see, here is another changelog for you lol. I'm kinda surprised I haven't dumped this whole project yet and go inactive in ffxi modding.........

                    --My Ramblings (Word of Advice : Skip )--
                    Ah, finally got the armor looking like it does in my concept art body wise (almost). The things that were added to the side of the body in previous post were not the final thing. I was just fooling around .

                    The newly added thing...............took about 5-6 hours to do and I actually had a blast doing it for some strange reason. I think it was because of the challenge as I thought it was impossible to do lol. You see, my concept art is not 3d so really, when you're trying to design this stuff, you can get stuck rather easily...atleast I do. Next thing is that thing I created is very well curved.........something most probably couldn't do so well. The only way for me to explain that is to look at my spikes in previous shots and compare it to the new object I created. If you think the new object I created is easy, go try and create it yourself.......a exact replica lol. If you do it rather easily and fast, I'll hand over the so called 'blueprints" to this armor and make you finish the rest lol.

                    It was incredibly hard for me to get it looking good + well curved like it is in my concept art + and hoping it does not collide with the legs, the body, and the hands. If it did collide, I would be in major trouble. But things turned out extremely well.

                    After that, I decided that I would finalize and polish off the textures for my newly created object unlike other parts in this armor. End result is a very well textured object that I like very much. So that is what its going to look like when I finish the whole thing......I will never change the textures for this.

                    There is one vital thing that needs to be created and added to the body. It would be added to the lower body if you are that interested. It needs to be added so the whole thing overall looks good (Well, it already looks good lol, but better). It may take me awhile to get this done as this is something that I may not be able to complete. But I have to try..not going to give up.

                    The loincloth is not supposed to be that long really. In my concept art, its way shorter, but at the time I was doing it, I wanted to make it longer. What I'll probably do is after I finish more things, I will decrease the length of that to what is in my concept art. This is done so a tester in the future can test it out while I work on the skeleton weight for the long version.

                    Hmm........still wondering why I haven't quit this yet and go mia for about 2-5 months as I've been wanting to lol. Big projects like this have a 80% failure rate in which I will stop on it totally and move on to something else. Hmm out of the 300+ projects I have done the past years, about 75% were discarded at some point.

                    Hmm, last thing I'll say. Yes yes, as soon as I'm done adding my vital part that I need, I will work on the legs lol. I dunno about you, but the whole thing doesn't look right until this is done lol. Even if the gloves/boots/body still needs working on, atleast they got textures that belong to this armor set lol. After the legs are completed and I set the skeletal weight for things that need it, I will show you how the armor looks when doing animations. Then I will start taking already made weapons and make some based on the armor design. I'll make some new weapons also.........I got this sword in the works for the past week or two, its done model wise, but I can't get the textures looking any good for the blade itself.

                    Hmm, alright, I guess thats it. If I decide to mod later tonight or tomorrow, I'll probably be back again, but if not.......I'm out for a good week maybe. Will try and keep at it with this project, but I won't guaurantee it.
