Which program?

Hello,
which programs is everyone using to make custom Dat's? i found the thread about dat changer but the links are dead, as are all the kadaj links. I would like to make a few custom dats, can someone please tell me a link to download a program to use, or tell me the name, so i may /sea it on google for DL.

youll need model viewer to extract files
Meta for basic model editing
Graphics converter 3 to import new textures to models
and an imaging editing program like photoshop or the gimp
VRS is for advanced model editing but takes a while to get used to and can be overwhelming at first

View the latest Dat Copier post But thats just to move files not to make dats. And I just got word hopefully Site will be up tomorrow.

Thank you for the info, but i was wondering, couls you tell me sort of a step by step how-to? I downloaded the meta but couldnt pull up any pics or drag and drop any pics. I would like to be able to mod my own armor and weapons, so i dont have to continually ask for wierd requests over and over. Thank you ^^

I'll tell you basics cause hopefully site will be back up tomorrow with the tutorials.

Open Model Viewer(MV) Chose your armor/whatever Click Dat to MQO Save the piece you want.

Open the Piece in meta To edit. You can NOT Delete/add vertex's in Meta.
Save back whatever you do. In MV do File> Import MQO (or soemthign like that)

For texture change edit the BMP.

Open Graphics Converter3(GC3), open the BMP, go Format > SCT3 >DXT3, Then save it
Then Import into MV with the above Method mentioned

Thank you, all this is new to me and i want to learn, been playing ffxi for years tho, and my pc is half decent. I now have meta MV GC3

tryed dat to mqo then import back to MV and all it does is crash my Foyle-MV

Then you have done somethign Horrible wrong with the MQO.

i didnt mod it, just pulled it off into mqo/mcd and tryed to put it back file>import and MV crashes/locks up

it shouldnt crash at all.....try another one and see if it crashes as well? ..I dunno what the prob could be but it sounds like one of the programs is messed if you didnt touch anything and just export then converted..btw is this who I think it is? XD
