Clipping problems -.- plz help

ok ... we got the alpha mapping shit down ... went to test it out .... change the color got the stripes we wanted ... put it in game... looked awsome ... untill i put on a cloak .. ........................................................................... my head hurts ..... can anyone please help me out with this? Make it clip for me ... or somthing?

The only way this can be fixed is by makign the Hair smaller to fit inside. And or Manually change every cloak basicly. Or just cut off the hoods

Why does it work on the other mods and not this one? It works on fallens big ass hair ..

Yeah, I remember reading somewere there's a mapping trick you do that hides away that section of the hair. It was on a Japanese site, I'll have to search it again.

Hmm.. then It would have to Do with how the game takes out things not needed. Like when you Have mods with long sleeves. Or Higher Boots that come up to the knee. I had to fix it once so it wouldn't hide stuff but well I cant remeber how really. Sorry

in vrs, in the black boxes at the end there should be something like <none-hide0-etc> play around with the hide0 part going from hide1 to hide5 or so, this tells the game which bits to remobe from the model when that dat is equipped (like how some hats cover just the top of the head, while some helmets cover the entire head)

Im trying to fix this same problem with 2 very slightly tilted back AF blm hat replacements from xoops. where be these black boxes thou speaketh of? Ive opened the hat in VRS and can spin it around and do tricks with it, but cant find the hides.

kk well that was easy enough. I changed the values to no effect. (cant move in that window other than zooming on ffxi, mousing left and right seems to zoom but im stuck at one point. ) Then I resized the window and it took up the whole desktop, so i hit cascade to try to get them back into windows and VRS crashed.

Ill try again and see if after changing those values i can export the changes back to the .dat

edit: got it, hide2 fixed it for the blm AF hats. Ill see if i can fix the OP now

ok, worked on this a bit but seems to be of another order of difficulty entirely. Whereas changing the hides on the hat hid what was underneath it, changing them on the hair doesnt seem to do anything. I pulled out the spiky silver hair thats the precursor to that black hair above and checked its hides for clues but theyre all set to 0. For fun, im methodically changing the hide values on the blue hair to see if anything comes up, it has 4 of them and I havent seen any changes, having set the last black box from 0-5 hide.

I see exactly where your talking abotu . but how do you change the value ? The part I want cliped is perfect ... its one mesh ... so If i mess with that It may work hopefully x.x

I switched the 2nd black box's IVF value to 5 and ears popped through the cloak that were hidden by it before. Fiddling with that value now since hideo didnt pan out.
