Does anyone have any idea on what the other 5 hidden skills are? I posted a picture of the list of skills avalible, since i obviously have "riding" as one skill, I'm very curious as to what the others are
Ive been doing alot of digging, mining and harvesting, and show no skill there, compared to digging, where i only have used maybe 5-10 stacks of greens. It seems quite possible it's them, but if anyone does have fact on what they are, I'd love to know ^^
Mining and Harvesting are definetly ones and I've been told you need to obtain certain items to skill them up, so just mining/harvesting alot wont do it.

Yes there is a way ^^
While zoning, you press Status>>Craftskill.. There are 1 or 2 seconds while zonig when the screen is black. That's when you check it. Be sure to have checked it b4 so you can do this as fast as possible. I used fraps to be able to see it, since its only activated for 1-2 seconds..
More than likely, there aren't any other hidden skills. If there were, they would be listed there with a name attached to them, just like "Riding" represents the chocobo digging skill.
None of the other CHELM type of item-obtaining methods seem to improve over time; someone walking into a Gusgen to mine for the first time will statistically end up with similar results to someone who has been doing it every day for a year. Given how they were introduced into the game off-hand, instead of being something built into many different Final Fantasy games like chocobos, it is much more likely that they're as simple as they seem.

Thats not the case, someone whos been mining longer and has mined the required skill up item will have a higher chance of getting better results. For instance in the same area a new miner got 1 chunk of gold and the other guy who had got the items which supposedly skill you up got 15. I'd say thats a difference.
Mining ect are obviously hidden skills anyway cause you get +1 ect equipment for them just like you get +1 ect riding equipment.

Mining does not improve over time. One of my LS mates has been mining as his primary income almost since day 1 of NA retail, and his results now are no better than they were when he started. Logging, Harvesting, Excavation, (and I presume Clamming) are also similar in this respect.
I also know quite a few gardeners, and they also tell me that they do not see any improvement in their results over time (except when they upgraded to Moghancement: Gardening)
Chocobo digging, on the other hand, does have a visible hidden skillup.

More weapon classes to come?
Considering that this games design gives it the potential to go to lv. 255 I would assume those blank spots you see to just be buffer slots. Just like any program it goes through a set process, and most likely what you are pulling up when you access the forms there like that is those forms inital load settings.
Those settings it then changes dependant on what the server sends to it as being visible stats and hidden stats. Most likely all those slots you see are there for possible expansion, a program is only as good as it's modular capabilities.
They had to of planned and prepared nearly every form to have extra slots so whatever they develop has an easy integration into the game creating a lower amount of problems. I would say those slots are possible things to come it doesn't mean that they actually will though.

Well said. The "hidden skills," which have been viewable since the game's release, are simply place holders to allow future skills to be added (not to say they will be, just the possibility). They do not represent any skill currently employed in the game. Glitches like these should always be taken with a grain of salt. If they truly wished to hide "hidden" data from you, they would not make it displayable under any circumstance.

To the best of my knowledge, the riding gear you get increases your riding time, but it doesn't change the Chocobo Digging results in any way. (As listed in the Chocobo Digging Guide.) The other clothes are different; they seem to reduce the level of breaks on the items used (pickaxe for mining/excavating, etc.) While they're certainly useful to use, that doesn't mean they improve the actual mining results.
