Can you enjoy fishing at lvl 1?

I took a long vacation from ffxi and now it seems my lvl 55 thf is deleted, however I'm considering playing the game just for the fishing aspect atm.

My question is, how hard it would be to lvl up fishing without leveling up my character.

btw, I had reached about lvl 20 fishing on my old thf so I'm familiar with cost and technique, only worried about maybe not being able to make it to areas to fish.

Level 1 - 11 are done in ports.

Level 11-22 is done in East Ronfuare.

After that, the monsters you fish up would bugger you

It's technically possible to fish safely up to 96 if you have the patience. Actually doing so would be more painful than watching grass grow in slow motion, though.

If you really enjoy fishing, get some levels... 25 levels of RDM or WHM shouldn't be too difficult. Having Sneak and Invisible gives you much better options for fishing. Of course, the higher level you are, the less dangerous it is to fish no matter where you go.

any experienced angler knows that the most excitement to be had is at the Den of Rancor. Fishing Zebra eels there is a very frightening experience indeed...

Ah thx for reminding me about catching mobs, forgot about that one. I might roll a whm and maybe raise fishing with each level of the character.

My friends jsut botted like almsot all their fishing..... go to sleep turn on the bot thingy .... wake up in the morning and ur like 5 or 10 levels higher than u were but DON USE BOTS ... im level 27 fishing and ive never used a bot lol .....
