Fishing: Zoning Required?

Hello! I recently have taken up fishing and someone told me I need to be constantly zoning every hour or so or the catch rate will be really sucky. Is that true?

So if I go fishing in Jugner for my moat carps, I will have to zone every hour? If so, that's waste of time!

And what is the point of it?

i've also heard this rumor. I think its pretty much inplace to stop people from botting if this is really true anyways. If you dont zone within a hour you will still catch stuff just your chances are lower. From what i heard. Fishing has been severly nerfed. It used to be fun in my opinion now it just sucks.

I am Fishing Lv58 w/ Lu Shangs and all, and I personally believe the zoning rumor to be true. If I start catching lots of rusties or just a horrible catch rate, I zone, and the fishing rate seems to be stable again.

I'm fishing level 80, and I'm not convinced the common wisdom is correct. There does seem to be something which makes fishing degrade over time, but whether it's zoning or something else, I'm not sure, and zoning does not always fix the problem.

Of course, I do 95% of my fishing outdoors where there are monsters, and I rarely fish more than a couple hours at a stretch, so if there were long-term effects of staying in a zone, it's very likely I wouldn't see them.

It helps alot if you zone 3 zones away every 45 min. Or just simply Log off then back on to your char.

Zoning, I don't know... But fishing results get worse over time, I was fishing in Jugner last night, on my 1st 3 stacks of insect balls, I get bite every swing, but when I was on my 6th ball of my 4th stack, it took me a few swing to get a bite. So, then, I got bored, and started bashing all the monsters around a little, check the beetle NM and such, finally I got back to fishing, and the results were back to normal...

So, I don't know if the Zoning is necessary, but I'd say, they want us to do something while fishing long time, like bashing monsters? If you get what I mean ;
