Where should I fish with level 10 skill?

What's the best place to fish with level 10 skill? What rod should I use and what bait?

Composite Rod + Fly Lure in East Ronfaure. Catch Salmon and Trout until level 21.

I fished there with lvl 11/12 skill, using Composite Rod + fly lure for 7-8 hours this weekend. Caught about 2 dozen fish and got 0.6 skillup. This games craft/guild system needs some damn work. Man was I pissed. Even when moon hit full I was not getting bites, and when I was, I was never getting skillups. Can you imagine how disappointing it is to see 3 skillups in 7 hours? 0.2, 3 times. Its already bad enough that fishing is boring as hell, but when they make it almost impossible to advance in it even if you're willing to endure the boring nature, thats just cruel. Fu**ers...

Salmon sell for about 60 each, Trout for 70. The money isn't amaizing but nothing is with skill this low. You should level up at a decent rate. Try fishing at a new moon for the best skill ups.

East Ronfaure is pretty yuck. Bite rate can be good, but more often it just sucks.

Other options:

Composite/Mithran Rod + Sabiki Rig in Mhaura for Yellow Globes and Quus

Composite/Mithran Rod + Sabiki Rig in Buburimu Peninsula for Yellow Globes

Composite/Mithran Rod + Lugworm for in Selbina for Greedie and Fat Greedie.

I think I'll be heading to Mhaura then. I've been catching Sardines and Quus by the windurst guild. My Moat Carp catch rate isn't that great right now...it's about 2-3 moat carp per stack of insect paste. Too bad Mhaura doesn't have a AH! >_< Does it have a guild or something to sell to? I've never actually been there myself...just seen my brother.

You can do Yellow Globes and Quus until 17 and 19. The problem with them though is that there's also alot of other things like Sardines that you can catch there and won't be giving you any level ups at all. The advantage if Ronfaure is that everything you can catch with that combo is capable of giving skill ups.

FFXI Fishing does skill checks on higher level fish before lower level ones. Bastore Sardines in Mhaura will not affect your bite/catch rate on Yellow Globes or Quus.. you'll only hook sardines if you've already failed the checks for both of the higher level fish.
