I've just started mining and I find it quite a good source of income. So good, in fact, that I'll probably never go back to farming again. I do however have some questions for any miners here.

1. How do mining points spawn? Is it timed, number of times mined, etc.?

2. What's the best place for mining, barring Ifrit's Cauldron cause I'll die there? Currently I farm in Gusgen, is there anywhere else that makes a good profit?

3. How many pickaxes should I bring on one trip? I generally bring 3 stacks, but I either run out before my inventory is filled or my inventory is filled before I'm finished.

4. What are the best days for mining?

1) I have no clue on this, I just run around like a maniac trying to get as many spawn points as possible.

2) At your level, it's gusgen mines. You can make a killing there if you mine on the right day.

3) 2-3 Stacks of Pickaxes are enough.

4) I would say in Zeruhn or Gusgen, it would be Darksday at a full moon.

Best days of the week for mining are during new moon/full moon phases, and on watersday + windsday in mining zones that have colored rocks (blue rocks and green rocks are the most valuable).

1) I've been told, and have seen nothing to the contrary, that there are 3 spots active in Gusgan mines at one time. When one is used up, it instantly (or nearly so) respawns in another location. My personal belief if that it can instantly respawn in the same location, which explains the occasional times you get 15+ swings at one point.

2) Not counting Ifrit's, Gusgan is the top choice for mining.

3) I take 2-4 stacks, depending on exactly what I want to do.

4) So far full moon seems to have the best quality of results that I've seen. I'm currently testing a theroy that breakages are based on if the moon is waxing or waining (it seems to be that breaks are more common when the moon is waining).

I've heard Palborough is good for mining because of the Platinums, is this true? The most caluable ores in Gusgen are Gold and Darksteel but those sell for roughly 6000 a piece while Platinum goes for 20K each.

Palsborough can be a good spot for mining as well, but probably not as good as gusgen, as all the points are few and far apart, also platinum is a pretty rare ore to get, so good luck with taht as well.

As far as mining it up in gusgen, you can stay there for quite some time, usually you'll fill up with about 3 stack of pick axes on a good day (assuming you've done gobbie bag 4) but you can stay quite a bit longer provided you've got decent blacksmithing and goldsmithing skills as well. If you can get them both to about lvl 20, just bring about 6 or 7 stacks of pickaxes, 2 stacks of fire, and 1 stack of wind for the occasional colored rocks. You can eaily make 100k or so each run

I dun need to farm I jus have another charecter which I keep at lvl 16 and make him kill Orcish around tha area where the War Cheif Vatgit iz by the hut.(just don't fight him or he'll send yur bitch ass back to Sandoria in a body bag :sweat: ) I know it sounds like a ghay idea but I can get like 50,000 gil in about 45 mins.

Easy, if yur charecter levels up u jus kill him again and run back there again. Each orcish regens in about 10 mins after u kill them so itz like continuous orcish woop-ass. Each time u kill an orcish at that level in that area u receive 35 gil, I kill about 5 orcish a min.

So if you kill 5 in a minute and each drop about 35 gil each, you make 175 gil a minute. You say in 45 mins you make 50k which definetly isn't true since you would make about 8k...

Can anyone post mine points of Gusgen Mines because when I went there I only found about 4 points and in 2+ hours I only gained 2 iron ores, 1 gold, and some other useless ores. I have full mine gear. I heard good things about this place but from my experiences I do better at Yughrotto. But at Yughrotto I can only bring in about around 15k an hour. I need more gil!!

You only found 4 points because on the top level there are only 4 points

If you just walk back and forth between the 4 points, and there are only 1 or 2 others mining there you can make quite a bit.

I just wann know one thing . . . . . WHAT LVL DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO MINE IN GUSGEN MINES !!!! I am currently a lvl 20 WAR/8 MNK and thats cuz I have been fishing and lvln' my smithing. Could someone please help me out....
