  • adaman ore/ ore of darkness

this is for all of those who are wondering how to grow them. Some people will be mad for showing the recepies but I can care less. I have tried to grow the stuff, but takes too long and it is waste of time. There are easier ways of making gil. But without further delay , here is the site that will solve most of your problems.

    http://www.polsta.jp/~hiya/FFXI/culture.php

use altavista babelfish to translate, and it will translate most of the site.

Good luck and have fun. Hope the market "crashes" rofl. It will make my crafting a lot cheaper.

ok edited post because it was a little %&^$*&% for you guys.

Let me try to say it a little better,
don't expect good results at all with only this information.
moon phase and other stuff is very important.

If you're going to tell it to no one, why are you helping narrow down the recipe? Or do you just enjoy coming off as a pretty annoying braggart?

Anyway, for those truly interested in the ores, check out somepage.com/ffxi's gardening links. I believe they list some of the ore combinations, and somepage is pretty reliable as far as information goes.

first off I didn't say that that page had a recepie of getting the Ore guaranteed. If you read what was there you would see that the site tells you (according to how many people gave information of combinations) the chance that you can get the ore using that formula.

2nd I doubt you know the formula, you just don't want people to try the ones that are on the site so they don't flood the market with the elemental ores

If you run it through babelfish, all the site is doing is providing recipes and results. The kick is that it's also providing %s of results based on what people are reporting - say, 10 people will do a brass pot + vegetable seed + water crystal combine. How many times people got la thiene cabbages and how many times they got fire crystals will be reported.

Those numbers don't look very useful, but it's good for some additional recipe information.

Yeah that's the recipe but don't expect great results, it's very rare to get. I tried it a number of times and cried when I got rock salt lol.

Heh yeah its not as good as it seems. I got like 60 little worms off of 2 pots once. It was enough to put me off gardening for awhile. 2 weeks real time for SIXTY little worms.

Platinum nuggets was probably the easiest money maker before the market crashed.

ok, I don't understand why I get flamed...

                    there are 2 things :

First of all it ISN'T the complete recipe. I would almost say its the wrong recipe.. there are SO many other things you need to know before you can grow elemental ores...

                    moon-phases are very important,
you also need to know when to harvest etc etc..

How is this new information? The link to Culture Shock was posted months ago here: http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/sho...ight=gardening

                      by spuncan.

I've tried using this site as a resource, and I find it to be lacking, to say the least. It takes an enormous investment to get started with stuff like saplings or cactus stems, and it's easy to come up empty-handed. A concentrated effort aimed at growing platinum nuggets will STILL make you more money per day than growing some of these elemental ore recipes. I have come to the conclusion that the data samples presented therien are so limited that I must test recipes on my own. I have learned a lot in the process, and I'm not saying anything more about it *)

If you want to run your own tests, by all means, go for it. I hope you like rock salt *)

Yup. Its sort of like a ladder. The more money you can possiblym ake from gardening, the more chance there is for failure. with the regular seeds you could plant them any pot with anyseed and feed the right crystal on the right day and get fire crystals. Easy money

But with stuff like Gold leaf and the ores, its very pecise to the point that you might be able to plant a feed a sapling only ONCE every two weeks or so becaeu of the moon phase and all.

Besides, gardening is good when you have the capital to start it. Before that getting high profit items like adaman ore or and elemtal ore is chanced at 1/10 so if you lose once....

I agree with the above poster. And for those reasons I don't really understand why people try and guard the secret for the high end grows so much.

I took a stab at ice ore and got 1 success out of 10 pots. The 500k was nice, but i could have made that with Plat nuggets in the time it took me to grow it.

It just isn't worth it to me to make adaman/elemental ores my main source of income. Even selling at 20k a stack you can make good money off plat nuggets, and its reliable. You know your gonna get 13-16 stacks every 30 pots, and oddly enough on Fairy the price has recently gone back up to 40k/stack which is what i sold my last 14 stacks for.^^

This despite the fact that everyone and their mother knows the plat nugget recipe.

It will be interesting to see how this patch has affected gardening. I haven't planted anything since the patch due to exams, but fishings been nerfed, farming has been nerfed, and it looks like mining has been nerfed. How odd would it be if they didn't nerf gardening which I believe is more profitable than any of the aforementioned.

They all know about the fire crystal recipe but no one power-gardens it like me. 30 pots a week=gil Even if the prices have depressed to like 1.3k a stack on my server.

What recipe do you use? I've tried several and I can't get over a 30% success rate.
