Arnt Ice Crystals pretty cheap? Ice crystals seem to be more rare than others but they dont seem to sell for much. It wouldnt be worth beating up ghosts and stuff for a few crystals. I recommend just buying em.

Ice crystals, even though rare, are cheap due to the very low demand on them. There is only one recipe that I can think of that is used during a crafting skillup path; selbina butter. There are a handful of other ice recipes like meat jerky and pickled herring but very few people actually skillup off those. If it wasn't for selbina butter being the popular leveling path for lvl 13-20 cooks, ice crystals would cost less than 1k a stack.
The only time I have ever farmed ice crystals was when killing giants in Qufim and somebody actually controlled that region, which is pretty rare.Rank: 5

What exactly is Tsurara anyway? It doesn't appear to be a helpful potion or food from what the guide says. I can't find anything out about it other than its good for low level alchemists. If it sells well in Jeuno I will send it to my friend Zainab for sale purposes but what is it?Creon Arcais - Rank 6 San d'Orian

Tsurara is a ninjitsu powder.
Just a question, how much is the jeuno tax for those 99 stacks items, If 12 is taxed at 500, is 99 taxed at 4000?
Justa sking as I wont be selling a stack of 99 in jeuno, heck I /blist add ''selling stacks at Jeuno AH'' until I find/craft something worth paying that tax.

Jeuno's tax on most low-to-mid value items that stack to 99 (like Ninjitsu powders such as Tsurara) is approximately 500-550 gil.
Generally speaking though, Tsurara are a terrible way to level up Alchemy, especially if you're only level 18. You'll lose a frightening amount of money that way, since there is very low demand for them (only Ninjas use them, and only a minority of ninjas will use offensive elemental ninjitsu). Most ninjas I know just buy them in Norg or make their own.
Honestly speaking, if you don't have a lot of gil to throw around (i.e. you happen to have at least 10-20K gil sitting around doing nothing but collecting dust), you shouldn't be crafting, period - all it will do is divert money away from things you REALLY need.
There are times when I'm skilling up that I'll be 50K in materials invested before I can sell off the synthed products, and I even try to minimize that by excavating/logging/mining the materials I need. You don't HAVE to lose money when crafting, but be prepared to invest heavily before making your money back. I'm currently skilling up Bonecrafting, Smithing, Goldsmithing, and Woodworking, and my total unsold material wealth is something on the order of about 600-700K gil, waiting for the time when I can synth the material for a profit.

Im not interested in making alot of money. I just want to make some useful items for myself and my party. So far Alchemy is fairly easy, I haven't sold my Tsurara yet but i will see how much I get for them tonight. I get most of the materials myself, killing crabs to get Rock Salt, etc. I got 2 Stacks of Distilled Water for 200 gil a piece so that wasnt that bad. Ice crystals seem to have raised in price I paid 1.2k for a stack of those. Luckily I just got my sub so while leveling that it gives me an opportunity to gain my wealth back through crystal sales.Creon Arcais - Rank 6 San d'Orian

Cost of Tsurara on Ifrit server:
1 stack of Ice crystal: 800 -1k gil
1 stack of rock salt with hero fame: 168 gil or 0 fame for 192 gil
2 stack of distilled water: 240 gil or 0 fame for 288 gil.
Total cost: 1208 or 1480
If you fail all, you lose 1480, chance is you won't. Any success combine will result 10 tsurara, each tsurara sell back price is 10 gil. So each success combine you'll get 100 gil back. Unless you have very bad luck, you shouldn't lose much money using this as skill up.Peejo-Rank 10/ZM completed
