I have to agree about the topic hijack o.~

Anyways, I agree with Gman's response. It seems worker gear (at least in my experience) is merely the Dev's response to field gear having such low defense. Understandable, considering mining in such places as Ifrit's Cauldron.

But this is merely from my opinion. I'd really like to know as fact myself.

Hehe, from what I've heard, if you get aggro in Ifrit's Cauldron, you're dead, doesn't matter the def of your armor...

Ifrits is "doable" I mined there from 63+ with a paladin friend just need whm/blm and pld/whm where both can use sneak+invis
( there are clear spots to recast ).

If you want to mine it solo I suggest going as a 75 bst or 75 smn or having blink+stoneskin+aquaveil and escape macro'd ^^

I recently bought workers gear, and to tell you the truth, I have been having LESS luck with it. (though i think some of it is because of a patch that seems to have made plat in palborough almost non-existant.)

In my experience, it hasn't helped drop rates, or pick axe break rates at ALL over field gear. :/
