Hi...I have a question on the Worker mining gear. I currently have the entire Field gear set and have made enough money to cover my expenses in buying those and have made a substantial profit with them. I also now have enough money to buy select pieces of the Worker gear set. My question is, is it worth spending money on the Worker set and does that set work any better than the Field set besides having more defense? Thanks in advance

Maybe its just psychological but I upgraded from field to workers and thought it made a noticeable difference in terms of pick breakage rate. I also record all my profits per stack and it seems to have gone up when I changed to workers although I'd need a week or two more to confirm it, it could just be luck.55% Skill

i would also like to know this, i have full field set (minus pants). i usually just mine in zeruhn since its so close to bastok, but recently i've been going to palborough to mine. im lvl 25 so dont have to worry about much aggro...although sometimes i end up training loads of quadavs. (never died though)
with zeruhn i've noticed this, i get more more iron then anything else, about half the iron in zinc, and about 1 or two silver, since the update i havent gotten darksteel once.
with palborough it seems like this generally what happens:
very common ores - tin, zinc, mythril
not very common - copper, iron, silver
rare - platinum
with zeruhn i go through maybe 10 pickaxes to get 20-25 decent ores (not including copper and tin). whereas with palborough i use up around 15-16 pickaxes to get 15-20 decent ores.
i would also complain about the lack of active mine points in palborough, but that doesnt have to do with the topic. just wondering if worker gear would make palborough production become more like zeruhn production in terms of pickaxes breaking.

I think certain places have a higher pickaxe break rate than others. I can go to gusgen, and break 2 sets of pickaxes in less than 30 minutes if I can find enough mining points. This will more than likely not fill up my bag. Where as I can go to Zeruhn and for each set of 12 pickaxes, I can fill my bag up with iron and zinc.

I did my first "proper" mining run with workers last night ( 16 picks and a ton of empty space ).
From a single spot I got 2xdarksteel and 1xgold.
Only got 1xdarksteel and 2xyellow rock from the rest.
also 5 silver and 6 iron, and some tin which i chucked, the 4 zinc went towards my bastok fame.55% Skill

Thanks for all the replies that were on topic, I got my hopes up when I saw that there was more than one reply to my post, but it still doesnt ander my question, I currently have the Worker Gloves and Boots and am saving for the tunica. Before I do that tho, i wanna know from people if it is a wise investment. Thank you------------------------------------------------------Illverin--------------------------------------------------------------

Where in the auction hall is the worker's tunica and worker's hose? I've carefully looked but have not been able to find these two in the auction hall. I haven't had a problem finding the gloves and boots.Rank: 5

It doesn't give you Bastok fame, it gives you Tenshodo fame. At warehouse 1 in Bastok Port, give 4 zinc to the big Galka (Talib I think). You get 350 gil and Tenshodo fame for each set of 4 you give him.Originally posted by Brianguam1
Gryff... what do you mean the 4 zinc ore went towards your bastok fame..? You can trade this to a npc to raise your fame or something?Rank: 5

Illverin, I did the same, bought the gloves+feet first.
I _definately_ recommend getting the body piece. :-]

I did a resort and the body armor showed up. But no matter how many times I resort the leg armor, it doesn't show up. Not that I care about the leg armor just wondering why sometimes items don't show up in the ah.Originally posted by Gryff

An item will only show up in the Auction House lists if it has been put up for sale at least once. The HQ Field Gear are quite rare, and typically sold in Jeuno. It's not unfeasible that one has not been sold (since the last server reboot maybe, even).

Tenshodo fame is the 'black market' of Eastern Weapons & Armor that starts in Norg and goes to Bastok & Jeuno. Fame for tenshodo is a must if you want to obtain some very expensive ninja scrolls & start the quest for the avatar Leviathan.Originally posted by Brianguam1

holy topic hijack batman...
What does Teshendo fame have to do with answering the topic creators question?
On topic, Illverin, I think your question was somewhat answered by Gryff already. It is probably going to be hard to find someone who has hard data to show it's a good buy. I would stick with Field if I were you, unless you can get workers at a good price...FFXIV: ARR - Leviathan Server - 50 Bard, 47 Dragoon, 50 All crafts, 48 Botany, 48 Miner
