I have no idea about referrals. I don't have any, but I guess the people that do got some gil for it?

You get about 15g a post. You can use the gil up where is says Store and RPG > Store menu to buy stuff like username colors, custom titles, sticky threads, etc. You used to get a rep boost from donating gil to someone, but that got axed after we figured out two people could pass the same gil back and forth and become shiny beacons of light or whatever the title is. Now it's just a way to be generous.

You can get gil by stealing from other members, but that chews up your reputation and might fail and backfire. The Bank protects your gil from thieves and there's interest on your balance, at the cost of not looking like a fat cat when people look at how much gil is on you.

i just wanted to toss my name in the hat. i didn't frequent the main FFXI forum on alla a great deal, but i had been a regular poster and premium member for quite some time. had about 4k posts before the you know what hit the spinnie thing.

anyway...i look forward to frequenting this site now...

The problem is there's a way to get around rule #4 =P So you probably won't have an opportunity to do it in this thread.

I can think of two ways to get around it:

1) Sarcasm

2) Be Siber and taunt teh forum newbs with cookies!

I'm yet another refugee from the sellout over at Alla. I'm the quiet type, and usually don't draw attention to myself, but I figure since this is a tightly-knit community, I ought to at least declare an instance of myself before randomly appearing in some thread.

It'll be nice to belong to an environment in which needlessly-antagonistic posters are actually punished. I've been looking for an Alla-alternative for several months now, but most retained the sophomoric atmosphere of Alla or the even less sensible flamefests of KI, so this little gem is certainly a sight for sore eyes.

Now, to disappear and go read any Paladin, Warrior, Fishing, or Cooking-related threads I can get my grimy little hands on...
