How about an Oekaki feature and subforum? I can see a new off topic thread spawning there :3

And a more intergrated screenshot/pic gallery or more attachement space if possible? You know to be easier to have pics up, or for people like callisto not have the photobucket/imageshack bandwidth exceded XD

Also the IRC idea Feba mentioned would be nice too.

Some emoticons of auto-translate words please~

    Last thing I can think of, 100x Thanks button {Yes, Please}

You don't have a thick, swinging Cure V record sigged?

I think really I don't troll the way others do there (or not as much, don't spend a lot of time in Spam or anything) but I do get a good laugh out of the site and while I'm most definitely endgame, I definitely try to stay on the outside of it when it comes to the bashing.

Personally I love the drama though. If only to read and not to post.

Instead of a shoutbox, we can have a dramabox, where certain members who frequent other forums can post up links to funny, funny drama.

I wouldn't mind digging through BG's crap too, but my Bullshit Waders kinda got wore out while in the Air Force, so I dunno if I could handle anymore for now. Alla and KI would be right out in that case as well.

I do like the "breaking news" idea of stuff that comes up, posting it on the front page. I'm often out of the loop on recent discoveries until I get in touch with people, which, for the longest time, was difficult at best. Now, I'm actually awake when most of yall are, in the same country a lot of yall are in, and it makes things easy now.

    Go figure...

Seriously Aks, I don't know how you do what you do. I've been browsing BG's threads and I've seen you a few times, and you totally don't fit in, because your not having a big dick contest(I know your a chick) with some random person, or bitching about something, or completely blasting any new question that comes up.
    ....or duping.

    More power to you.

I would be happy to be the BG troller. I don't really go anywhere else but here and BG when it comes to FFXI. I'm guessing it will require some kinks, but major news and major discoveries would probably be candidates for this type of news linkage. I'd be glad to scour BG for shit.

(11:40:29 AM) feba35: or wait for a thread in the forum you want to get bumped

Why does that remind me of that thing that used to be on YTMND that would let you see what other people were doing/searching at the moment.

I call him Mr. Chicobo now, but don't tell him or I'll get banned.

Also, yeah there really isn't much I can even think about changing. d(^^d )

Ya know baby chocobo, you've got a pretty good site when 60% of the requests are for smiley updates

It would be nice if that smiley switch was divided so you could toggle "Original smileys" "Additional smileys" and "All smileys" on/off

Edit > Then again Additional and All would be more than enough.

Re: Looking for input on site changes

Maybe it wouldn't be a good idea (would probably feel very Alla) but if we kinda like our off-topic-ness, a method of organizing posts into sub-threads would probably be wildly convenient. Which is to say for example, Malacite posts "The death of FFXI" in the "what would you like to see happen in Rapture?" thread. Instead of devoting a page and a half to this, having posts relevant to his topic - which is interesting in and of itself - all replied directly under his post. I also think ideally, it would be collapsible to hide all the replies to said subtopic, and by default it should be collapsed (with a little line saying "5 replies" between it and the next post) so the quick scanner isn't subject to all this crap. Example - Armando made the "Mobs with Odd Properties" thread. 3 pages of bickering ensued because one person decided to be unreasonably doubtful. If a new user wants to read the interesting finds of Armando, they get through 1.5 pages and are left wondering if they can trust any of the data. That's just silly.

    ---

Also, this is selfish but I'd love it: there are lots of interesting finds on BG (even though their testing almost always sucks) and probably on Alla and of course on blogs that occasionally pop up (I had no idea whotf Kaeko was 'til Enmity testing). When I'm at BG, I feel like my brain is melting. Therefore, I just don't peruse those sites and I've fallen out of the loop - even on the good stuff.

I would like a column on the main page dedicated to user-submitted cross-post threads (or blog entries). E.g. if while Aksannyi is lol'ing at BG threads, she comes across an incredibly useful tidbit on SCH macros, she could submit to a mod and they'd list it on a front-page column. There would only be room for a few threads on the front page, but have an archive button to see all other entries.

Over the years, there has been ridiculous amounts of testing done that has never really amounted to much. Since I find it difficult to trust FFXIclopedia these days, my ulterior motive is to end up with an archive of threads that will basically be "citations". So obviously, my interest would be in seeing lots of threads that read stuff like "it turns out there isn't an accuracy bonus on Souleater afterall!" or "Critical hits and 117 DEX" but I think the feature could be useful to lots of people with aforementioned "SCH macros" idea and such.

Would this "I want the best of every site w/out actually having to sift through it" feature be too much? Or unnecessary/unused?

And did this post get into the "tl;dr" territory?

EDIT: also about the server forums - maybe we could condense into a "request" subforum and have a sticky that states to post in the format of "Server_Name - Topic"?

I still would want to be able to buy and sell armor and weapons. But not that crap like other websites. I want to be able to get a avatar and put ffxi gear on it and such. Maybe even have a PvP of avatars section also. I have a lot of ideas running with this thought but I am at work and unable to get into full details. Anyone want to add to this?
