  • Reorganize forum suggestions

    This is a request and some suggestions on reorganizing the forms on Dreams. The main idea is to group useful, related forums together, and make things less cluttered.

    - Get rid of the "Articles & Database" button on the top. It hasn't been linked to anything for months. Until it does, no need for it to be there.

    - Merge contents of "Mining & Digging Q & A" into "HELM (Harvest, Excavate, Logging, Mining"), to eliminate redundancy.

    - Move "New User Introduction / Access Problem? / How to... " forum under "General Discussion" as a sub-forum, because making new users look all the way down there for it isn't terribly new user friendly.

    - Switch positions for "Race & Job Type Q & A" and "Crafting & Synthesis", so "Items Q & A" and "Crafting & Synthesis" can be closer together. Well, actually, main reason is to make the more popular "Race & Job Type Q & A" higher in the list.

    - Create an "Items / Monster / Area Q&A" forum; consolidate "Items Q & A", "Monsters / NM /HNM Q & A", and "World Area Q & A" under it. (May save a little screen space?)

    - Merge "Mission Q & A" and "Quest Q & A" into a single "Mission and Quest Q & A", and create sub-forums "Quests", "Nation Missions", "Zilart Mission", "Promathia Mission" sub-forms for better organization.

    - Move "Picture Gallery" to "Extra Activities" area; that seems to be where pictures belong.

    - Is there any way to redo the layout for "Specific Server Topics"? The aggregate traffic for that entire section is rather low, yet it takes up a huge amount of screen space. Maybe somehow format it into rows and columns so we'd get two or three server per row?

    - The "FFXI Database Repository" section... Just ... hide it? What is it good for (now), anyway?
    Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
    yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
    Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
    leaving no trace in the water.

    Re: Reorganize forum suggestions

    Some moving would make a lot of sense. There are many forums that don't get a lot of use, but are for some reason featured prominently in the Forum List.
