btw, if you look at the very bottom of the thread/page there is a marker that says how quickly the page was generated. 0.71011305 seconds is pretty fast to me so dunno what you're talking about.

Page loads are pretty much instant for me here, whereas on alla I usually have to reload the page once or twice to get anything from their database to come up, same with searches. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say there's some bottleneck between this site and you that has nothing to do with our provider or possibly even yours. Do a trace route to us and see where the pings get high or the packets start disappearing, and complain to whoever owns that node. I've never had to do it before, but I hear that actually gets results.

.45361590 for me see like i said less then a second also if yiou got XP and look at your performance in the ctrl alt del thingy when you try to sload or r4efresh a webpage at least for me the cpu usage spikes up to nearly 70% so website poage loading slowing down can be due to ones cpu cant it? or am i completely wrong on that aspect

I think the slowest page load I have seen on this site is 1.5 seconds now there isnt a lot I could do with that time. Alla is much slower as everyone has said must be something wrong at your end

Note: "Page generated" and "Page generated, served, content downloaded, and displayed" are not the same thing. The site's plenty fast and all, but PHP and MySQL processing everything in .3 seconds doesn't necessarily mean any given page is going to finish loading quickly.

the size of the forum makes a difference page 1 i got a 2.2 seconds page 2 i got a .2 seconds the sight itself loads fast just the sigs can cause some slower loading o.O

correct and much of the loading aspect has as much to do with images in peoples' sigs as content from this server. if an image from some other location takes forever to load, that will bring down the preceived notion of the page speed.

Thus while "page generated" is not a perfect indication of the server's performance, it's an adequate approximation.

I'd say FFXIOnline is quite fast most of the time. Sometimes it takes several seconds to open a page, though. KI on the other hand is horrible. Usually it takes minutes to load a page there.

Loads nice and fast on my steam-powered DSL line.
Alla, on the other hand is ridiculously slow by comparison, I'm often left staring at a half-drawn screen while it ponders its next move. It frequently fails to manage to draw the page at all.

@OP,

An ISP uses several internet routes to get to different sites. I found this out when my ISP was having problems and I could access some sites, but not all of them.

If people's sigs are what slows things down for you, try using Adblock and block any LARGE images.
