can we stop the spam accounts

first, i'd like to draw your attention to this thread:

so the guy admits to having all these accounts to spam and that he's been ip banned 3 seperate times. isn't there some way we can stop these spam accounts? sure people will commonly ignore them, but it's hell annoying.

we are getting rid of them. Also on the new site, we are going to purge most of the accounts that's not been active and we'll activly delete spam users
