Need help getting smelly... (seriously)

I've aquired all ten items to get the Opo Opo Crown but I cant open the quest up because I can't work out how to get smelly again. Originally you get smelly by touching the three Blue Raffelsia's in Yhutunga but I washed the smell of two days ago by killing the Jammer Leechs in Kororloka and "bathing" in the spring. I've spoken to the NPc's involved, tried getting smelly again from the three Blue Raffelsias but nothing will work and I sold the Necters you get from them (hey, he did say to). I call a GM who told me that it is possible to get smelly again just that the steps are different. Gorham's site says:

I don't really know what that says other than it is possible to get smelly again from them somehow. I've worked really hard the past few days getting the items needed for this so i'm kinda upset that something so minor is preventing me from finishing.

ouch that does suck a lot... I can't really understand it either, it sounds like it says you need to check the flowers out alot (?) and possibly it works at only certain times (only 1 per vanadiel day?). says you need to make sure you have that quest follow the spring clear I think. crown wasn't as good as I thought it would be but I'm sure that's not any comfort... just losing those 10 inventory items there... good luck

Hmm, i've been checking them every hour to try and get stinky but all I have gotten is another "Jar of Rafflesia Necter". As I posted before I had a feeling you might be able to eat one to get the smell back on you but there is no option to eat it. I guess ill keep trying every hour and hope for the best untill someone can translate that fully.

Unless you did the quest to get un smellied then you will still have the odour.

the quest is initiated by talking to the monkey near the airship dock btw. not sure if thats what you have done or not.

This is probably no help at all, but whilst logging in Yhoat I clicked a ??? which said there was a hole filled with something sweet-smelling? maybe worth a shot

No idea how much this helps, but I kept inspecting the rafflesias over and over until it gave me another "holy shit you smell" message. Unfortunately sometimes it won't shoot out that gaseous stuff that makes you smell so you just have to be patient. Took me a little over an hour to get smelly again.


edit: I had 5 or 6 jars of rafflesia nectar on me when it finally gave me the message again.

Meh, after hours and hours of going on the same route to touch the three Rafflesia's it finally made me smelly again and I finished the quest. Just using the Opo Opo Pin for my White Mage rocks. 73gil for an hours worth of +50hp +50mp - you can't beat that with a stick. Hmmm, I don't get why Square pulls this kind of shit. Basically I was punished for finishing a semi-difficult quest :/
